The Avid Indoorsmen

Hey dudes! We went back in time to talk about the cult classic that has produced two sequels, 1989’s Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure. We figured that since the third of the trilogy, Face The Music, came out recently that we would pay homage to the original.

There was absolutely no question who we were going to ask to be a guest on this episode, the Wyld Stallyn himself, Nathan Stone. Nate quotes this movie all the time and it was so much fun to hear his history with this film.

We ended the episode with a new movie quote game and our Patrons get to hear us duke it out during our Top 5 Favorite Movies Featuring a Phone Booth/Pay Phone.

We hope you’re all staying happy, healthy and safe out there. And we encourage you to take Bill & Ted’s advice: Be Excellent To Each Other.

Disney has created another live-action remake of one of their beloved musicals, and decided to switch things up and re-imagine the story of Mulan. It’s being streamed now on Disney +.

We knew that @JenikaMarion was a big fan of the animated musical version so we knew we had to get her on the pod to talk about this with us, and we decided since we missed her husband that @TimFoustMusic could tag along😊 These two are so much fun to talk movies with and you’ll enjoy hearing their takes on this one!

This episode ends with a fun Imitation Game and our Patrons get to hear us draft our Top 5 Female Characters You’d Want To Have Your Back In A Fight.

No, you’re not dreaming, we’ve done an episode on Inception which is celebrating it’s 10th Anniversary!

We went and got the dreamboat from The Blenders and Home Free’s Producer, Darren Rust to make his AI debut. We’ve been wanting to get him on the podcast and this just happens to be one of his favorite films, so it worked out!

Our dream within a dream was a fun movie game Buegs made up called The Starting 5 and one layer deeper our Patrons get to hear us battle it out during our Top 5 Favorite Movie Dream Sequences Draft.

We hope you’re all staying happy, healthy and safe out there!

Sweet Dreams!

The Blues Brothers just had it’s 40th Anniversary!!! We had to get the band back together to celebrate it, so we got a couple of returning guests and longtime friends for both of us, Benny Elledge and Dan Ristrom! We don’t know anyone else who loves this movie more than these two and they had us laughing throughout the entire episode with their hilarious takes and the various titles of fictional sex tapes.

We concluded things with a very fun Imitation Game and our Patrons get to hear our Top 5 Favorite Movie Cameos, which was *SPOILER ALERT* too much fun!

It’s been a while since we’ve done a Movie Game Night so we got one of our favorite A Cappella groups to come on and play some games with us: VOICEPLAY!

We chatted about life with no shows, how they’re still rocking the YouTube game and most importantly, played some super entertaining games.

The Voiceplay guys are such a good time and don’t forget to check out Rob’s collaboration with them on their ACA TOP 10 Movie Medley.

ENJOY!

You didn’t think we’d do a Clueless 25th Anniversary episode? AS IF! We had to talk about this iconic 90’s take on the classic Jane Austen story, Emma.

We got Rob’s best friend from Kindergarten to come back on to the pod, Tim St.Sauver. He had some super funny takes on Cher and Dionne and the rest of the Clueless gang.

This episode ended with an Imitation Game and our Patrons get to listen to us battle it out during our Top 5 90’s Teen Films Draft. It was a great time and if you’re not a Patron you should really consider joining our Indoorsy community!

Hope you’re all staying healthy and safe and enjoying these Social Distancing Sessions. Clueless is currently on Netflix if you are looking for something fun to watch!

“He’s a Cinderella story. A former assistant groundskeeper about to become the Masters champion...” This quote and every other quote from Caddyshack have been told and retold by all of our Dads for 40 years now! So we got that going for us, which is nice.

We had to find a couple guys who love this movie as much as we do and didn’t have to look very far. Turns out the two guys who helped us get this podcast up and running, Luke Pierce and Ben Haley from Works Entertainment know this movie inside and out. It was entertaining hearing their thoughts and trivia they know about this 40 year old classic.

We ended this episode with a newer movie game Buegs came up with called The Starting 5 and our Patrons get to hear us draft our Top 5 Favorite Films featuring Rich People We Love To Hate.

Hope you are staying healthy and safe out there and enjoying our podcast.

We were so excited to talk about the new film released on HULU featuring Andy Samberg and Cristin Miliotti, Palm Springs.

Both Nate Stone and Seggie Isho saw Palm Springs before The Avid Indoorsmen and raved about it so much that it inspired us to watch it and decide to do an episode on it. Since they inspired us to check this out initially, we thought it was only right to have them on and give us their hot takes. SPOILER ALERT: It was a super good time.

We ended this episode with an Imitation Game and our Patrons get to hear us draft our Top 5 Films with a City in the Title! If you’re not a patron of ours, get on it!

We hope you all enjoy checking out some new cinema even though we’re not getting any in the theaters for a while. This can tide you over until we can get back to the big screen.

Stay healthy and safe out there!

Having it’s 35th Anniversary is the Steven Spielberg film based on Alice Walker’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel, The Color Purple.

As you will find out by listening to this episode, both of the Avid Indoorsmen had never seen this 11 time Academy Award nominated film, but it happened to be one of our guest’s favorite movies ever, the one and only Emoni Wilkins! We were looking for an excuse to bring Emoni onto the podcast and when she mentioned The Color Purple was a film she adored and we saw it was on Hulu and celebrating an anniversary, it was too good to pass up!

We had such a good time hearing Emoni’s thoughts on this classic and we ended the episode by playing a super fun game of Last Man Stanton. Our Patrons can listen to us draft our Top 5 Favorite Films with a Color in the Title.

We’re hoping you are all staying healthy and safe out there and you’re enjoying the podcast. Please rate and review if you haven’t done so already, it would really help us out.

That’s right, this episode will focus on the Minnesota hockey classic, The Mighty Ducks.

We had to get the full flock together to create that triple deke, so we got our buddy and Hollywood actor, J. Michael Trautmann! He has a close connection to this film and we had a blast hanging out with him, hearing his hilarious takes.

This episode ends with a new game that Buegs came up with called The Starting 5 and our Patrons get to hear us battle it out over our Top 5 Favorite Films Set In Minnesota.
