The Avid Indoorsmen

We heard that Disney + was releasing a filmed version of the live theatrical production of Hamilton and we were not throwing away our shot…we had to do it.

Jenika Marion and Neil Ghosh were on the Zoom where it happened, and it was super fun geeking out to this musical theater phenomenon with them. Neil made his AI debut and he fit right in, Jenika has been on so many times and is a fan favorite and always a delight.

Toward the end of the episode we decided to talk less and smile more and played a fun Imitation game and then our Patrons get to hear us duel it out in our Top 5 Favorite Movie Musicals Draft.

We hope you enjoy this musical episode and you are staying safe and healthy out there.

Both of us have loved this movie since it came out and it kind of flew under the radar for most people. Another guy who enjoyed this film when it came out is Reilly Zamber, so we decided to chat with him about it. Reilly’s always a great guest and it was fun hearing his takes on this film.

We end this episode with a fun Imitation Game and our Patrons get to hear us draft our Top 5 Favorite Heist Films.

We’re back with another Social Distancing Session and when we booked this podcast Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery was on Netflix. When we recorded this episode it was then taken off Netflix. But if you’re like us, you’ve probably seen Austin Powers so many times you won’t even need a rewatch before listening to us talk about it.

We brought in some super cool cats who love this movie as much as we do and they’ve been on the pod in the past, Max Felsheim and Patrick Nelson! Oh behave!

So much fun was had reminiscing about all the things that made us laugh in this film.

We ended this episode with a fun Imitation Game and our Patrons get to hear us draft our Top 5 Favorite Films Featuring 90’s SNL Cast Members.

We’re hoping you’re all sound as a pound and staying healthy and safe out there. Yeah baby, Yeah!

The Home Free Merch Man himself, Potatoe aka Nathan Rodes Stone, makes his Avid Indoorsmen debut on the 35th Anniversary of Back To The Future. Everyone who knows Nate knows that he has seen this movie roughly 10 million times, so this was a no-brainer when deciding who we should have on this episode.

Nate gave some very fun takes on this iconic film and some trivia we’d never heard before. It was fun hearing him gush about this classic movie he loves so much.

We ended with a new game that Tim Foust introduced to us that we have named Alpha Dog and our Patrons get to hear us draft our favorite time travel films!

Back to the Future was released on July 3rd, so the day after this episode goes out to the public. We hope you have a great time celebrating this film as well as America’s Independence Day. Stay healthy and safe out there!

Happy Belated Father’s Day to all the Dads our there! We‘ve been trying to come up with a reason to devote an episode to About Time for a while now and the fact that it’s a great father and son movie and it’s currently on Netflix, we thought we’d add it to our Social Distancing Sessions!

We are so excited to introduce to you the talented singer/songwriter and new podcaster, Jon McLaughlin. He’s making his Avid Indoorsmen debut with this episode and he is just a delight you guys. We thought we should get another Dad, aside from Rob, on this unofficial Father’s Day pod to break down this beautiful film and we think you’re really going to enjoy his insights!

This episode ends with a fun Taglines movie game and our Patrons get to hear us draft our Top 5 Favorite Movie Dads!

Big thanks to Jon for being on the show and make sure you check out his new podcast, Dadville, available anywhere you listen to podcasts!

While we are still being encouraged to social distance and stay at home, we continue our Social Distancing Sessions! We’ve been trying to keep it upbeat for the most part, so we figured since Just Friends is celebrating a 15th year Anniversary and currently on Netflix, it would be a fun one to chat about!

We brought in one of our favorite recurring guests in @benny_elledge and making her AI Debut is fellow Broadway Actor, Stephanie Torns @Tornsy18! Lots of laughs were shared while breaking down this film and we got to hear what these actors felt about the performances they saw in Just Friends.

This episode ends with a fun Imitation Game and our Patrons get to hear us draft our Top 5 Favorite Films Where The Main Character Returns To Their Hometown.

We hope you’re all staying healthy and safe during the complete mess that is 2020 and hope you’re enjoying listening to our show!

Enjoy!

It’s the 10th Anniversary of the Fincher/Sorkin classic and we had to bring in a couple film aficionados to express why this film is so good, so we brought in Seggie Isho and a newbie to the pod, Luke Pierce.

We had such a great time breaking down this film with these two. We’ve decided they both have to come back on together because it was such a blast.

This episode ends with us playing a very fun Imitation Game and our Patrons get to hear us draft our Top 5 MySpace Movie Friend List.

We just want to remind you that every dollar we make for the month of June from www.patreon.com/theavidindoorsmen, will be going to We Love Lake Street to help rebuild the city we love, Minneapolis. We also encourage you to go straight to the source and donate directly to www.welovelakestreet.com.

Just to be clear, this was recorded before the tragic events in Minneapolis and that is why it isn’t mentioned at all.

We return with another Social Distancing Session and brought back one of Rob’s best friends, Timmy St. Sauver, to talk about the Rom-Com She’s Out Of My League that is currently streaming on Netflix.

Had a blast taking our minds off of the craziness in the world and breaking down this hilarious film. Timmy’s always got the hot takes, so it was fun to bring him back.

We end the episode with an Imitation Game and our Patrons get to hear us draft our Top 5 Favorite Movie Friend Groups.

If you haven’t heard, we are committed to helping out the city we love and will be donating the month of June’s Patreon funds to We Love Lake Street. Feel free to join us on www.patreon.com/theavidindoorsmen or donate directly to www.welovelakestreet.com.

We agreed to embark on the quest of talking about the most recent Pixar film, Onward, and we needed 3 brave souls to accompany us. We couldn’t find any so we asked some of Rob’s Home Free Fam to come back to the pod.

Jenika Marion, Abe Sword and Adam Rupp heard we were gonna be chatting about Onward and they all volunteered to virtually hang out with us. And spoiler alert, we actually have Adam’s audio this time!

We had a blast breaking down this film with them. Then we had even more fun playing our Imitation Game with them. And the good times concluded with us drafting our Top 5 Favorite Movie Vehicles with them!

Our name is The Avid Indoorsmen. You’ve heard our podcast. Prepare to enjoy yourself!

Our good buddy @PeterHollens wanted to come on the podcast and he optioned for us to talk about The Princess Bride which took absolutely no convincing whatsoever. We’re so happy he chose this and it has recently been added to Disney + if you’re looking for something fun to watch while social distancing!

Before we chat with Peter we start this episode discussing the last movies we’ve watched, what we’ve been streaming and our favorite quarantine meals.

Had such a fun time reminiscing about how much we loved this film as kids and breaking down how wonderful it is and how it still holds up!

We end this episode playing a movie game called Taglines and our Patrons get to hear us draft our Top 5 Favorite Films Featuring Pro Wrestlers!

Hope you’re all staying safe and healthy out there and enjoying these social distancing sessions!
