The Avid Indoorsmen

Since we’ve had some extra time we thought it would be fun to do some movie games with different guests!

Our first Movie Game Night features Home Free’s own Tim Foust, The Criterion Man himself Darrell Marrier, and Straight No Chaser’s Seggie Isho.

Rob has played a particular movie game with the other Home Free guys while driving all over the country and has played this game, naming off actors and movies, for hundreds of hours at this point. He thought it would be fun to try it out with these fellas and they did not disappoint.

We want to thank Tim, Darrell and Seggie for being our guinea pigs. This was a lot of fun and kinda stressful at times!

We hope you enjoy our first Movie Game Night!

We were so excited to talk about 2018’s Academy Award winning Best Animated Feature with some of our favorite people in this universe @TheAdamChance and @SamiMatarante!

Before we chat with them we talk about the latest movies we’ve seen, what we’re streaming on the inter-WEBS and our favorite meals of late.

Chance and Sami always have great insight and that is very present in this episode. We all throughly enjoyed ourselves while breaking down this super fun film.

This episode concludes with a very exciting Imitation Game and our Patrons get to hear us battle it out during our Top 5 Animated Films Draft!

We hope you are all healthy and safe and getting through these tough times while keeping your sanity. We hope we can bring you some laughs and be a distraction during this craziness.

Enjoy the great indoors!

Everyone is stuck in their homes for the next however long, so we thought the next batch of movies we release should all be available to stream on Netflix. We’re calling this new series: Social Distancing Sessions.

We decided to bring the laughs on the first episode of Social Distancing Sessions since we all could use more of that in our lives right now. We chose The Other Guys which just so happens to be celebrating it’s 10th Anniversary.

To giggle along with us we brought back some of our favorite recurring guests: @JenikaMarion and @TimFoustMusic.

Before we chat with Tim and Jenika we talk about how we’re dealing with the worldwide pandemic upon us, our last movies we’ve watched, what we’re streaming since that is very appropriate right now and our favorite meals of late.

Breaking down this film with these two was a total blast. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and kept the good times rolling with a super fun game that Tim made and then our Patrons get to hear our Top 5 Favorite Buddy Cop Films Draft. Spoiler, the Top 5 was suuuuuper fun.

We sincerely hope you all are staying home and staying safe. We hope your family and loved ones are doing the same. Take some time to forget about all the craziness and have a few laughs with us.

Enjoy!

First off, we hope you are all safe and healthy during these crazy times. We recorded this before the pandemic really got going, so that’s why we don’t mention it at all in the episode.

We cannot believe TMNT is 30 years old!?! Since this movie and comic franchise has been such a huge part of our lives, it was really a no-brainer that we would do an episode on it. It seemed like the perfect time to do it since it’s celebrating it’s 30th birthday and it’s also on Netflix currently so you can watch while we are stuck inside for who knows how long.

We start off the episode discussing the latest movies we’ve watched that are currently available to rent or stream, what tv we’re streaming and our tastiest meals when we were still able to eat at restaurants.

We had to bring back one of our favorite guests, one of Rob’s buddies from all the way back to his elementary school days and a HUGE TMNT enthusiast, Hollywood actor, J.Michael Trautmann! He was so great on our Rise of Skywalker episode that we had to have him on again to talk about his love for these pizza-loving, butt-kicking turtles! We had a blast reminiscing about our childhood memories of this film while breaking it down. We hope you have as much fun listening to us as we did talking about this indie classic!

We end the episode with a movie game we took from Doug Loves Movies called Last Man Stanton and our Patrons get to hear us draft our Top 5 Favorite Films When We Were Kids!

We sincerely hope you’re all doing ok and hoping we can help take your mind off the craziness of the world right now. Much love to you all and...COWABUNGA!

HOLY SHNIKEYS! Tommy Boy just turned 25 years old and it just so happens to be one of our favorite movies of all time. We thought we should bring someone on who loves this movie as much as we do, so we have one of our closest friends making his AI debut, our good college buddy, Brandon Miller!

Before we talk with Brandon we talk about the last movies we’ve seen, what we’re streaming and what we’ve been eating.

We really break down this movie and spend the most amount of time we’ve ever spent on our “Show Me The Money” section, quoting almost the entire film. So many laughs are had, especially if you listen to the credits after the theme song.

We had a great game of Last Man Stanton and then our Patrons get to hear us draft our Top 5 Favorite Road Trip Films!

This episode was too much fun for us and we hope you have fun listening to it! Happy 25th Birthday Tommy Boy!

We feel happpppyyyyyyy! The main reason we are so happy is because we got to talk about Monty Python and the Holy Grail which is celebrating its 45th Anniversary!!!

The absurdity is overflowing in this episode with great commentary from Rob’s fellow Home Free band member Tim Foust and some noises from Home Free’s beatboxer, Adam Rupp (you’ll understand what we mean when you listen to the episode).

Before we talk to those guys we chat about the last films we’ve seen, what we’ve been streaming on the media platforms and our most recent delicious meals.

We break down this film while laughing the whole time. Tim surprised us with his own version of The Imitation Game so Rob could join in on the fun and our Patrons get to hear us draft our Top 5 Favorite Films Featuring the Monty Python Crew.

We apologize for the technical difficulties we experienced with this episode, but think we may have made up for it with the complete randomness Adam Rupp came up with. We got through it with minor physical damage, it was really just a flesh wound :)

“Welcome to Hollywood. What’s Yo Dream?!” Our dream is to talk about the Rom-Com Classic, Pretty Woman, which is celebrating it’s 30th Anniversary this year!

One thing you’re going to notice is that we have released this out of the order we had planned due to technical difficulties we may or may not reveal at a later date. However, it’s still soooooo much fun!

We start off the pod chatting about the last movies we’ve seen, what we’ve been streaming and our most delicious meals/things that feed our soul.

On this episode we have Chris Rupp making his AI debut! As most of you know Chris is the founder of Home Free and is doing many other projects including 7th Ave Band and his own solo music. He has some ties to the song Pretty Woman which is mentioned in the pod and one of the reasons we brought him on!

Chris is so much fun on this episode and our Patrons even got to watch us play our game and pick our draft which was our Top 5 Movies Named After Songs. Big thanks to Chris for making that happen.

We think you’re really going to enjoy this one. You’re definitely going to want to listen to it. If you don’t it’ll be a big mistake. Huge!

Enjoy!

It is the 20th anniversary of the cult classic, High Fidelity, and it just happens to be one of Rob’s favorite movies. We had to get one of Rob’s lifelong friends to come onto the pod, making his AI debut: Timmy St Sauver!

Before we chat with Timmy we discuss the latest movies we’ve seen, what we’re streaming and the best meals we’ve had recently.

Breaking down this film was too much fun! Timmy brought some great takes and we end up quoting half the movie. We got a little chatty in this one because we were having such a good time.

We end with a very impressive movie game and our Patrons get to hear us draft our Top 5 Favorite Films That Break The Fourth Wall.

Hope you all enjoy this episode, I know we did. And if you haven’t seen High Fidelity, go check it out!

The Academy Awards finally got it right this year and picked the correct Best Picture with the instantaneous cinematic classic, Parasite!
To chat about this filmmaking gem we had to pick a gem of a human being to be on this episode, so we brought back Straight No Chaser’s very own Seggie Isho!

Before we talk to Seggie we discuss the last films we’ve watched, what we’re streaming and also what we’ve been eating!

Seggie brought with him the most scalding of takes and we truly had a blast chatting with him about this work of art from Bong Joon-Ho.

As you can tell from this synopsis we clearly loved this film and we hope you love listening to us talk about it!
Enjoy!
