The Avid Indoorsmen

It’s that wonderful holiday where we eat too much and say what we’re thankful for, Thanksgiving! We decided to take a break from our Death Star Diaries so we could talk about our favorite Thanksgiving film, the John Hughes classic, Planes, Trains & Automobiles!

Rob grew up loving this film and has been quoting it with his Dad for the last 30 years, so we thought it only made sense to bring Fred Lundquist back on the pod to talk about it.

We start off this episode by talking about the last movies we’ve seen, what we’re streaming and the tastiest meals we’ve had lately.

So many laughs were had while breaking down this film. We could have spent another hour quoting every line, it’s such a quotable movie! We think you’re going to enjoy us giggling our way through our takes.

This episode concludes with us playing the Blast From The Past Movie Game and our Patrons will hear us draft our Top 5 Favorite John Hughes Films.

We hope you’re all able to spend this holiday with your loved ones and have a wonderful Thanksgiving. We’re so thankful for your support and hope you’re enjoying our podcast.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We’ve come to the last of the original Star Wars Trilogy! We knew we had to have a previous guest return for Return of the Jedi and we thought it would be awesome to have The Return of the Sami! @SamiMatarante and @TheAdamChance came back to the pod to drop some serious hot takes on us.

Before we broke down the film we discussed the last movies we’ve watched, what we’re streaming and the best meals we’ve consumed lately

After we talked about Episode VI we ended with a fun edition of The Imitation Game! Chance and Sami were awesome enough to stick around and pick our favorite movie siblings in a draft just for our Patrons!

We hope you have been enjoying the Death Star Diaries and May the Force Be With You!

@TheAdamChance shares all of his Star Wars knowledge while talking about his favorite film of all time! Rob also makes an embarrassing discovery about this film and you’ll definitely want to hear his hot take on this one.

We end with a movie game we haven’t played in a while that we call Blast From the Past and then our Patrons get to listen to our draft on the Top 5 Movie Locations We’d Like To Take A Vacation.

We made it all the way to where it all began, A New Hope. This film changed everything back in 1977 and we were really stoked to talk about it.

Before we light sabered our way into that movie we discuss the most recent films we’ve watched, what we’ve been streaming on the media platforms and our most delicious meals recently.

On all of these episodes we’ve had the help from our good buddy and Star Wars expert @TheAdamChance, and he has agreed to stick with us until the end. He drops some knowledge on us in this one and we brought in one of our favorite humans of all time, @abe_sword! He has some serious connections to Star Wars as he explains in this episode.

We ended with a hilarious version of The Imitation Game, many laughs were had while playing it. Both of these fellas stuck around to draft our Top 5 Movie Orphans and it turned out great! If you want to hear how that draft turned out you must be a Patron of the pod, so go to www.patreon.com/theavidindoorsmen to sign up for all of the awesome perks we offer!

We asked the people what they wanted for a Halloween episode and Hocus Pocus won by a landslide! This cult classic is beloved by many and especially the Indoorsy community.

Before we open the book of spells we chat about the last movies we’ve seen, what we’re streaming on the inter-webs and our tastiest recent snacks.

We are joined with a first time guest who actually had listened to quite a few episodes, Rob’s much better half, Kelsey Lundquist! She is a lover of all things Fall-related and Halloween definitely fits in that category. Her takes on this cult classic are especially spooooooky!

We end with a brand new movie game we’re calling the Blockbuster Movie Game. You’re going to want to hear how this went down! Our Patrons get to hear the extended cut where we draft our Top 5 Favorite Movies With Witches! If you want to be a part of the fun, join our Patreon account today!

We hope everyone has a fun, safe Halloween!

We’re traveling at hyperspace through these Death Star Diaries and have already made it to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story!

We’ve been away from each other for a while so we start this episode out by catching up while Rob’s on the road and chat about the last movie we’ve seen, what we’re Netflix-ing and our most recent delectable meals.

Adam Chance has been rocking out the Star Wars from the very beginning and we thought it would be fun to bring another Star Wars fanatic into the DSD, fellow Home Free member/co-founder, Adam Rupp! The nerd is strong with these two and it’s fun to hear their love for this subject.

We end this episode with a super fun version of The Imitation Game and our Patrons get to hear us duke it out during our Best Space Films Draft!

We’ve got a good feeling about this episode, because we get to talk about the origin story of one of the most lovable scoundrels in space, Han Solo!

It starts off with us chatting about our favorite movies we’ve seen recently, what we’re devouring on the streaming platforms and the best meals we’ve eaten of late.

Then we chat with two of the best basses in Home Free, @TheAdamChance and @TimFoustMusic. Chance always has the hot takes when it comes to Star Wars and Tim definitely brings the goods to this episode as well.

We end with our Imitation Game that people seem to be digging and the guys stuck around to do a Top 5 Woody Harrelson Films Draft. It’s a really good time that only our Patrons get to enjoy, so become a Patron today!

We have with us again the Master Jedi himself @TheAdamChance giving you all the Star Wars knowledge you didn’t know you needed to know.

Before we chat with Chance we talk about the last movies we’ve seen, what we’re streaming digitally and our most delicious meals recently.

Hello young Padowans, we are back with some more Death Star Diaries! This time we focus on the 2nd episode of the Star Wars Saga: Attack of the Clones.

Before we break down the film we discuss our latest movies we’ve seen, what we’ve been watching on the streaming platforms and the most delicious meal that we both experienced during our trip to Nashville.

Our Jedi Knight, @TheAdamChance, gives us all of his insight and wisdom on this film, as well as a bunch of fun inside information only a Star Wars junkie would know.

We end this episode with a little game of Last Man Stanton that we blatantly stole from Doug Loves Movies. Then our Patrons get to listen our Top 5 Robots in Film Draft, which was a super fun category to rank!

We are embarking on a new journey in a galaxy far far away, we’re going to cover all of the Star Wars films in a new series we’re calling: Death Star Diaries! We will be going in episodic order, not theatrical release order, so of course we will be starting with Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.

Before we start chatting about this film we dive into the latest movies we’ve seen, what we’ve been consuming on the streaming platforms and our favorite recent films.

We begged the biggest Star Wars fan we know to join us for this new series and @TheAdamChance has agreed to do ALL of these films! This first one also features Reilly Zamber from @TheHoundTheFox who toughed it out even though was feeling under the weather. He may have sounded sick, but his takes as well as Chance’s are definitely worth hearing!

After our deep dive into Phantom Menace we ended this episode like all of our episodes with a Movie Game, specifically our Imitation Game. These guys were willing to stick around for a Top 5 Liam Neeson Films Draft which ended up being a lot of fun.

Hope you guys are ready to get your nerd on and rock out some Star Wars with us on these Death Star Diaries!
