Justin Verlander is headed to the New York Mets on a two-year, $86 million deal. Brandon Scott reflects on Verlander's historic Cy Young season and looks ahead to what the Astros do next in free agency.
Plus, Deshaun Watson made his return to the NFL after 700 days away from the field. It was only a good game between the Browns and Texans if you grade by a curb. More on Watson's performance, his reception and it's getting sadder to watch the Texans on a weekly basis.

The Texans suffered another embarrassing loss, this time 30-15 at the Miami Dolphins.
It was the first game of the Kyle Allen Era, after Davis Mills' benching. But things don't look much different. It's still a poorly constructed, schemed and executed offense. No quarterback on this roster could fix that and no coach on this staff has the answers.
But for the Texans, it was really a weekend about Bryce Young.

Brandon Scott discusses the regression of the Texans' young players, asks what benching Davis Mills accomplishes exactly, whether management will be held accountable for how bad the roster is, and if anyone in charge can be trusted with the organization's future.

Brandon Scott of SportsRadio 610 reacts to the Texans tying the Colts in their season-opener: Lovie Smith's decision-making, the workload for the running backs, Davis Mills' late-game performance and what's happening with the interior offensive line.

In this episode, Brandon Scott spends far more time than he should trying to explain how the Texans could have played a role in what's been described as troubling behavior by their former star quarterback, Deshaun Watson.

In this episode, Brandon Scott reacts to the Houston Rockets drafting Jabari Smith Jr. at No. 3 overall. How does he fit with Jalen Green? How do Tari Eason and Tyty Washington, the No. 17 and No. 29 picks, factor into the rebuild? What does it all mean for head coach Stephen Silas and point guard Kevin Porter Jr., both going into their third seasons with the team?
All of that is covered in the first half-hour of the podcast.
In the second half-hour, B. Scott reacts to the Astros taking the last two games at Yankee Stadium; addresses Houston's first-world problem of surplus starting pitching; and the offense, once decidedly mediocre, is BACK!

In a shocking turn of events, the Academy Awards became a different kind of dramatic spectacle than originally intended.
After Chris Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett-Smith's ball head, saying he's looking forward to her in the next GI Jane movie, Will Smith calmly walked up to the stage and slapped the comedian for his joke. Brandon Scott watched in real time and pieced together what happened as it all unfolded on social media.
This will go down as one of the iconic moments, certainly in awards show history, but possibly in American live television and pop culture history. So we had to discuss.
Also, Coty Davis from the Locked on Texans podcast and Sports Illustrated talks with B. Scott about Deshaun Watson speaking publicly for the first time without legal representation since he was accused of harassing or abusing two dozen women, and the first time since forcing a trade and signing the richest guaranteed contract in NFL history (35:26).
