In this episode of The Barn Hoops Podcast, we break down Auburn basketball’s tough road loss at Oklahoma and what it means moving forward. The Tigers simply didn’t bring the defensive intensity that they brought in Saturday's win over Kentucky. Rotations were late, dribble penetration came far too easily, and Oklahoma consistently found clean looks both at the rim and from beyond the arc. It was a flat performance on that end of the floor, and it set the tone early.
Offensively, Auburn struggled to generate consistent scoring outside of Kevin Overton and Keyshawn Hall. Overton provided much-needed shot-making, while Hall attacked the paint and kept the Tigers within striking distance for stretches. But the lack of secondary production allowed Oklahoma to key in defensively, limiting Auburn’s rhythm and flow.
Looking ahead, the loss doesn’t completely derail Auburn’s tournament hopes, but it makes it a much more uphill battle to secure a spot in the field of 68 on Selection Sunday.
