Today we talk with Angelica Acton and Anandini Wadera about Health and Wellness in what we plan on being a series of health tips with these two amazing women.
Angelica Campanale Acton, L.Ac. is a second-generation licensed acupuncturist in the state of California and owner of Juniper Acupuncture Orthopedics and Wellness in Los Gatos California. She earned her four-year Masters of Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University, with additional certification in sports medicine, Tuina massage, and Five Element acupuncture which focuses on psycho-emotional balancing.
Anandini Wadera also is educated in Chinese Medicine which includes the use of acupuncture, herbal medicine, cups, moxibustion and tui na (Chinese massage) to treat a wide spectrum of ailments. Some common complaints for which Chinese Medicine is sought after are pain management, musculo-skeletal disharmonies, headache, infertility and women’s health. With that said, Chinese Medicine’s ability to increase the function of the immune system and promote the parasympathetic nervous system make it suitable for addressing autoimmune disorders, the common cold or flu, digestive health and other stress-induced complaints. It can manage PTSD and emotional imbalances, and the U.S. military employs acupuncturists at some VA hospitals for this purpose.
