The Beautifully Anxious

Remember the beginning of COVID where you were furiously scrubbing away at your groceries and Lysol was more expensive than gold? We do. In what is very much a time capsule episode (this was recorded at the beginning of the first worldwide lockdown in April 2020), Dave, Phivos and Benet are joined by friend of the show, actor, singer and dragon-slayer Luke Evans. They chat about coping tools, meditation, success, pressure and (inevitably) how unprepared everyone felt for a lockdown.

Dave, Phivos and Benet are joined by their friend Ramy Youssef, a successful comedian, actor, creator (but failed NBA player).

They candidly discuss his experience of therapy, navigating relationships, what 'success' means, and everything in-between.

Recorded in late 2020, this episode is dedicated to Sheila Hennessey, Elaine Rae, Savannah Briand and to all those we lost in the last year.

The team are back, this time trying to openly tackle the heavy topic of death. They touch on grief, guilt, fear, and what it all means to those left behind, while Benet is on-hand to offer some therapeutic advice on how to cope and why he uses the word "snuff".

Today the lads discuss 'Perfectionism' and how it can be both good and bad, how to be aware of it, and why it took so long to start this podcast in the first place. In the spirit of this episode, we only performed one pass on this edit despite Phivos wanting to do more.

Dave, Phivos, and Ben return, this time discussing something they are both very familiar with, ‘Panic Attacks’. A lot more common than you might imagine, Ben listens as our hosts reveal how having them regularly affected their lives.

In this introductory episode, the hosts share a bit about their backgrounds, daily anxiety struggles and compulsions they experience, guided by their friend and practicing therapist Benet. Amongst many things they explore ‘why a jacket can be more than just a jacket’, and ‘why Dave’s socks sometimes make him go soft’.
