I’ve been asked an unusual question more than once, and I know that it’s in part because I’m a widow. Here’s the question: Francie, aren’t you tired of being alone? My response is simple: First, God never leaves me alone, but my additional response is this: I don’t focus on what I don’t have.
Gratitude is underrated, but it’s priceless. A person who has mastered the “gratitude attitude” has discovered true appreciation for life in the current form. It’s a beautiful place to live, and it erases the struggle of always wishing we were somewhere else, or with someone else, or that we had something else. Getting to the place where our hearts are intentionally grateful requires at least three key elements: godliness with contentment, thankfulness, and a transformed mind. These elements help lead us to that peaceful place of gratitude.
