February 05, 2019Episode 164: The Blind SpotToday’s episode is short and sweet, but it definitely hits an important point. Find your blind spots (the things that you are ignorant to and the weaknesses that you have). When you know what your blind spots are, you’ll be able to seek out others who have strengths that complement your weaknesses. Invest into those relationships to grow as a person, as it is likely that some of your strengths will complement their weaknesses. It seems like a simple concept, but it’s definitely a challenge to put into practice. Facing our blind spots is not easy, but it’s certainly worthwhile. It allows us to grow and experience a greater breadth of what life has to offer. How can you say no to that? Thanks again for tuning in. Your attention means the world to me. Much Love ❤️...more7minPlay
February 02, 2019Episode 163: MaterialismToday’s episode is focused on my thoughts about materialism and why we should give it up. January 28, 2019Episode 162: Camila CabelloToday’s podcast is inspired by Austin Poff, a great man and friend. “No reason to stay is a good reason to go.” This quote was brought to my attention by Austin, who happens to very much enjoy Camila Cabello’s music. When I heard this lyric for the first time, I was taken a back. When I thought about it further, I realized that it is a very powerful line that would resonate with a lot of people. That being said, it is today’s podcast topic. I hope that you all enjoy this short dialogue, as I dive into why this quote is so important for all of us in our lives. As always, Much Love ❤️ and thanks bro....more8minPlay
January 26, 2019Episode 161: About DeathToday’s podcast episode is quite intense. As a 21 year-old, thinking about and talking about death shouldn’t happen. It is something that most people my age avoid and are told to not do because we have “so much more life left to live.” However, our conceptions of death can drastically change how we live our lives day-to-day. With this in mind, I recorded today’s episode. This is easily one of the most meaningful episodes I’ve ever done, so I hope you all take 5 minutes to listen. It would mean the world to me. January 23, 2019Episode 160: Happiness = Reality - ExpectationsToday’s podcast was a cool one for me to record and talk through. This “equation” has been stuck in my head for a long time, and ruminating on it has brought me some great clarity on the topic of happiness. In this talk, I break down this “equation” of happiness, what it means at its basic and deeper levels, and why it does NOT mean that you have to be a pessimist to be happy. In fact, as you’ll see, it really means quite the opposite. As always, thanks for your attention and for checking out The Best Podcast. Much Love ❤️...more10minPlay
January 21, 2019Episode 159: A Conversation with James GilliamToday’s conversation with James Gilliam is an eye-opening one. His story is one of focused identity formation, grappling with pain and death, transition, faith, embracing struggle, digging deep, and keeping things in perspective. His life experiences are heavy, but the grace with which he has dealt with them and learned from them is to be admired. Although James and I disagree on some points about faith, he is a truly insightful person with a big heart and a thoughtful mind from whom we can learn. I hope that you all enjoy this conversation as much as I did. Much Love ❤️...more49minPlay
January 17, 2019Episode 158: MomentumToday’s podcast discusses a topic that has never been mentioned on the podcast before. This topic is momentum. Mo • men • tum: the impetus and driving force gained by the development of a process or course of events. Momentum is something that we all want to build. We want to feel like we’re in flow, finishing the things that we want to get done, making progress toward our goals, and just moving forward in general. However, how often do we stop ourselves to think about the things that we do to facilitate us having the momentum we desire? How often do we consider the ways in which we can maintain our momentum? These are questions that we should be asking ourselves, as the positive feelings that come with momentum can bring such great fulfillment and meaning to us. With these immense benefits in mind, I hope that you enjoy my talk about momentum and find the points I mentioned to be relevant. Much Love ❤️ Get after it!...more13minPlay
