  • Episode 116: Stop 4: Manchester
Today, I move on from Loughborough to Manchester in the north of England. In Manchester, I stayed with a dear friend from whom I was able to learn a great deal. Juan Carlos showed me the importance of belongingness in our lives and our need for relatedness. This topic really interested me and was something I really wanted to elaborate on. I hope that you all enjoy this talk (along with my repetitive definition of foreigner, two yawns, and my failure to come up with the third need of Self-Determination Theory)! Much love for all of you. I’m looking forward to talking about the next stop on my journey, Barcelona!

  • Episode 115: Stop 3: Loughborough
Moving on from Portsmouth, I took a train up to Loughborough, England. When I was there, I stayed with a Master’s student from Nigeria named Kamal. Even though I only stayed with him for a few days, I learned so much from him and was deeply inspired by him. His story is inspirational and encouraging, and it really gave me a new perspective that led to some powerful reflections, which you will hear in this episode. I hope that you all enjoy this one. Much love ❤️

  • Episode 114: Stop 2: Portsmouth
Moving on from London, I arrived to Portsmouth for a short stay. I stayed with a friend named Harry who is a student at the university there who is about my age. I really enjoyed my time with him, but the biggest takeaway that I had about my time there was his desire to face conflict and adversity and to learn from it. This reflective practice was impressive to me and it is something that is often difficult to find in a young person. When facing conflict, we can often shy away from it and try to avoid it when we should really take it head on to resolve the situation and to move forward. Watching Harry do this was a great observation early on in my trip that I was very grateful to have. Thanks so much for tuning in. Much love! ❤️ Next stop, Loughborough!

  • Episode 113: Stop 1: London
Today I begin my series of podcasts in which I reflect on my 2 and a half month trip to Europe. My first destination was London, England, which I discuss today in this first episode. This reflection focuses on the diversity of the city that I encountered and the reactions to which it led me about all of us as humans. I touch on various topics, but I believe that there is a very strong theme about the deep similarities that we all share as people. I hope that you enjoy this first episode! Next stop, Portsmouth!

  • Episode 112: Balancing Optimism and Self-Criticism
The hiatus/sabbatical is over! This topic is something that has been coming up over and over again throughout my time in Europe and here in the US after arriving home. This balance has been critical for me and it has been something that I have been developing over the last 5 years without ever recognizing it. However, it has been the one thing that has continuously come up over and over again in conversations with my friends and family. To follow up on these discussions, I wanted to talk about it in a more open platform in the form of a podcast episode. I hope that you all enjoy. Much love! ❤️
