September 05, 2018Stop 7: PragueHey everyone. We’re on the go again! I left Berlin and headed to Prague in mid-June, where I stayed for a few days. I really enjoyed my time there thanks to my personal guide and dear friend, Kát’a, along with my great AirBnB host, Lenka. It was a fascinating experience which led to a strong reflection for me upon leaving. Given that there is a definite cultural and societal difference in the Czech Republic compared to Western Europe and the US, my experience there exposed me to different people, places, customs, social dynamics, and pretty much everything else we experience in life. This experience led me to one big theme: Expose yourself to new ideas and new ways of life. Learning about places and people that are different allows you to grow in so many ways, but especially in your perspective. I hope you enjoy listening to this reflection, and I’ll be back soon for our next stop: Ghent, Belgium! September 04, 2018Episode 118: Stop 6: BerlinToday, I move on from Barcelona to Berlin, a city that I didn’t have many expectations for that had the most “foreign” nature to it for me in my journey up to that point. During my time in the city, I realized and reflected on the great value of people in our lives. Through out connections with others, we are able to do so much and live so much better. I elaborate on this in today’s episode and I hope that you can find at least some value in this talk. Thanks again for tuning in. Much love for all of you! ❤️ Next stop, Prague!...more9minPlay

A very different place which has held a place in my heart since the 3 weeks I spent there 2 summers ago. August 28, 2018Episode 116: Stop 4: ManchesterToday, I move on from Loughborough to Manchester in the north of England. In Manchester, I stayed with a dear friend from whom I was able to learn a great deal. Juan Carlos showed me the importance of belongingness in our lives and our need for relatedness. This topic really interested me and was something I really wanted to elaborate on. I hope that you all enjoy this talk (along with my repetitive definition of foreigner, two yawns, and my failure to come up with the third need of Self-Determination Theory)! Much love for all of you. I’m looking forward to talking about the next stop on my journey, Barcelona!...more9minPlay

August 24, 2018Episode 115: Stop 3: LoughboroughMoving on from Portsmouth, I took a train up to Loughborough, England. When I was there, I stayed with a Master’s student from Nigeria named Kamal. Even though I only stayed with him for a few days, I learned so much from him and was deeply inspired by him. His story is inspirational and encouraging, and it really gave me a new perspective that led to some powerful reflections, which you will hear in this episode. I hope that you all enjoy this one. August 21, 2018Episode 114: Stop 2: PortsmouthMoving on from London, I arrived to Portsmouth for a short stay. I stayed with a friend named Harry who is a student at the university there who is about my age. I really enjoyed my time with him, but the biggest takeaway that I had about my time there was his desire to face conflict and adversity and to learn from it. This reflective practice was impressive to me and it is something that is often difficult to find in a young person. When facing conflict, we can often shy away from it and try to avoid it when we should really take it head on to resolve the situation and to move forward. Watching Harry do this was a great observation early on in my trip that I was very grateful to have. Thanks so much for tuning in. Much love! ❤️ Next stop, Loughborough!...more11minPlay
