**The Vitality of Breath:**
- Humans take about 26,000 breaths daily, yet many of us only breathe shallowly, missing out on the potential energy breath provides.
- While breath sustains 90% of our energy, most only harness 10-20%, largely due to improper breathing habits.
**The Unconscious Act of Breathing:**
- Despite its importance, breathing often remains an unconscious, autopilot function for many.
- However, the moment breath is compromised, panic ensues, highlighting its fundamental role in life.
**Breath and Faith: Ezekiel 37:**
- Drawing from Ezekiel 37, the Valley of Dry Bones narrative illustrates breath's transformative power.
- The Hebrew word for breath, "Ruach," signifies both physical breath and spiritual essence, emphasizing the link between breath and life.
**Old Testament: The Ruach of God:**

Welcome to another insightful episode of the Her Faith at Work Podcast! In today's special episode, we embark on a journey into the rich tapestry of liturgical traditions, focusing on the enigmatic observance of Ash Wednesday.
Host Jan Touchberry, a product of a nondenominational Protestant upbringing, shares her personal voyage of discovery into the profound rituals of the Christian faith. Unveiling the mysteries of Ash Wednesday, she invites listeners to explore alongside her, offering a glimpse into the deeper layers of spirituality.
Delving into the origins of Ash Wednesday, dating back to the 11th century and officially marked on the calendar in 1582, we uncover its roots in ancient Jewish traditions of penance and fasting. Despite its historical lineage, Ash Wednesday remains relevant across denominational boundaries, with Catholics and numerous other Christian sects partaking in its observance.
Discover the symbolic significance behind the application of ashes, symbolizing humanity's humble beginnings from dust and our eventual return to it upon death. Through biblical references to sackcloth and ashes during periods of mourning and repentance, we grasp the timeless essence of this solemn ritual.
Whether you're well-versed in liturgical practices or embarking on your own journey of exploration, this episode promises to enrich your understanding of Ash Wednesday and its integral role in the Easter season. Welcome back to the podcast, friends! In this second episode, I felt a strong calling to discuss a topic that might be challenging for some of you. So, get ready for a little self-reflection and maybe even a swift kick in the pants. Before we dive in, I want you to know that while I've spent most of my life in vocational ministry, I'm not a theologian. I'm just a girl running after the heart and will of God for my life and business.
Today, I want to ask you a question: When was the last time you had a deep, supernatural, life-changing experience with God? Whether it's through reading His word, prayer, meditation, or worship, the experience varies for everyone. But let's be honest, many of us struggle to access the powerful, life-changing presence of God regularly.
I'll share a story from Exodus chapter 33, where Moses set up the Tent of Meeting to commune with God. The people stood at the entrances of their tents, perhaps intimidated by the thought of entering God's presence face to face. But the truth is, we no longer need a physical tent. Through Jesus and the Holy Spirit, we have direct access to God's presence.
What's stopping you from that deep connection with God? Is it fear? Do you believe it's not for you? I'll share personal experiences, like a powerful vision during worship and a moment during a Texas storm where the presence of God was palpable.
As believers, our faith won't be surface level or passive in heaven. In Revelation 4, elders bow down, worship, and lay their crowns before God. That should be us every day, transformed and led by the Almighty.
Imagine the impact on your life, relationships, and work if you embraced the full power of Christ's work on the cross every day.
I challenge you to take action, press into God's presence, and be changed. Don't just listen; truly encounter the Almighty and let it impact every aspect of your life. It's time to kick our own butts and live in the fullness of God's power.
