Worship is not a song. It is not a portion of a service. Worship is living our lives in awe of God, acknowledging Him in all of life.

Bible Reading: Psalms 132-134

Verse of the day: Psalm 132:7, "Then we said, "Let's go to the throne of the LORD and worship at his feet."

Word of the day: Worship. It is the Hebrew word: שָׁחָה (shaw-khaw').

God will be magnified whether or not we choose to magnify Him. When we minimize God or choose to live in sin, he will still be magnified.

Bible Reading: Malachi

Verse of the day: Malachi 1:5, "Your eyes will see this and you will say, 'The LORD be magnified beyond the border of Israel!'"

Word of the day: Magnified. It is the Hebrew word: גָּדַל (gaw-dal').

Have you ever fasted? Sometimes we can miss a mighty movement of God in our lives is we forsake fasting and praying. When we find ourselves in desperate times, fasting and praying is about humbling ourselves before God so we can seek Him more fervently.

Bible Reading: Neh. 1-3

Verse of the day: Nehemiah 1:4, "As soon as I heard these words I sat down and wept and mourned for days, and I continued fasting and praying before the God of heaven."

Word of the day: Fasting. It is the Hebrew word: צוּם (tsoom).

In a world that does not have God's word as its authority, God's word can be perverted. But twisting God's word for our own purposes only leaves us twisted ourselves.

Bible Reading: Deut. 22-24

Verse of the day: Deuteronomy 24:17, "You shall not pervert the justice due an alien or an orphan, nor take a widow's garment in pledge."

Word of the day: Pervert. It is the Hebrew word: נָטָה (naw-taw').

What purpose gets you out of bed in the morning? When we aim at nothing, we get what we aim for. There is a purpose for everything in this life, even suffering. How do you use suffering in your life?

Bible Reading: 1 Peter 4-5

Verse of the day: 1 Peter 4:1, "Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because the one who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin."

Word of the day: Purpose. It is the Greek word: ἔννοια (en'-noy-ah).

Legalism and liberalism can hinder evangelistic efforts. But when the church is biblical and avoids these extremes, the church will be strengthened as it walks in truth.

Bible Reading: Acts 15-16

Verse of the day: Acts 16:5, "So the churches were strengthened in the faith and grew daily in numbers."

Word of the day: Strengthened. It is the Greek word: στερεόω (ster-eh-o'-o).

"Don't pray for patience," people advise. Yet patience is part of what we are called to in Christ. When we wait on God, we will never be disappointed.

Bible Reading: Eccl. 7-8

Verse of the day: Ecclesiastes 7:8, "The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride."

Word of the day: Patience. It is the Hebrew word: אָרֵךְ (aw-rake').

When we are attacked and feel unseen, God always sees, and He is always for us. We prevail over our enemies and our circumstances by placing our hope in Christ's rescue, strength, and grace.

Bible Reading: Psalms 129-131

Verse of the day: Psalm 129:2, "Many times they have persecuted me from my youth up; Yet they have not prevailed against me."

Word of the day: Prevailed. It is the Hebrew word: יָכֹל (yaw-kole').

Sometimes we can live this life as if it will never end, but how we live our days will be apparent on the Day of the LORD. Live for that day.

Bible Reading: Zech. 11-14

Verse of the day: Zechariah 14:9, "The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name."

Word of the day: Day. It is the Hebrew word: יוֹם (yome).

When we serve God, people will come against us. But when God's people are separated for the work of God yet united in that work, greater is He that is in them than any obstacle in this world.

Bible Reading: Ezra 6-10

Verse of the day: Ezra 6:21, "The sons of Israel who returned from exile and all those who had separated themselves from the impurity of the nations of the land to join them, to seek the LORD God of Israel, ate the Passover."
