This morning, freight forwarders and trade bodies protested against unfair charges by shipping lines at the country’s ports, citing frustration over exploitation in the industry. They aim to raise awareness among the government and the public about the challenges they face. Nana Asiamah Preprah, Vice President of the Ghana Institute of Freight Forwarders, called for changes in the operations of shipping lines. The protest highlights a longstanding issue. To discuss potential solutions, an executive member of the Ship Owners Association of Ghana and Paulina Abrokwa, Co-Chair of the Technical Committee at GIFF, will join the conversation.
