In this episode we are looking at the idea of economic ideologies of socialism, social democracy, social market, free market capatlism and the monoplies. Just a pre-apology for my mic you can hear me but its not the best quality, James's Mic is very good. But in this week's episode we are looking at the ideologies above and examining their benifits to society and to the economy. So, this is a one man band episode, As James is studying for his exams, wish him good luck. In this episode Im talking about the midterms, the results but also what happens next who will be speaker and senate majority leader what are going to be the main legislative priorities and how to restore genuine bi partisanship in the United States?

Now, in this new series of UK History we are going to look at specific political eras since 1945. And we are starting with the 1945-51 Labour Government. Me and James are going to discuss the NHS, Education, Welfare state, Nationlised industries and Wage Controls discuss are they effective and why were they done and could they be implemented in the 2020s. An Interesting Episode and we will have an episode on Tuesday talking about the midterms and then on Sunday talking about the Budget. Then the Sunday after on the 26th November we will talk about the 1951-64 Conservative Government.  

It's an interesting episode, Micheal is back for this and wedensdays episode to co-host with me and James to talk about the midterm elections. We talk about the house and senate and govenorships its more of an outline to prepare for Tuesday's Midterms. And On Wedensday we will be talking about our view on the Midterms can the democrats keep the senate will republicans take the house. What will happen? 

So, Since I regularly cite the Simpson Bowles Commission when talking about US Economic Policy me and James are going to explain what it was, what it tried to achieve, Did it focus too much on spending cuts and not enough on tax reform , How did it reform entitlements would it actually reduce the debt, why couldn't they enact into law. Could it be done in the 2020s?

With Rishi Sunak made the tories latest Prime Minster we talk about his rise to power, his time as chancellor and his policies such as furlough and the £20 cut in Universal Credit. But also the crisis he faces as Prime Minister from the economy to the NHS and fixing the cost of living crisis. There will be an episode on Saturday talking about Simpson-Bowles

To prelude our UK Prime Ministers Series we are going to do a couple of  episodes on Labour and Tory Leaders since 1945. In this two part episode we will talk about Clement Attlee, Hugh Gaitskell, Harold Wilson, James Callaghan, Micheal Foot. And talk about the key events that dominated their leadership. In our New Series in the Big Issues Podcast we are going to discuss US political Issues. This week It's Entitlement Reform, looking at Medicare, Medicare, SSDI, S-CHIP, Social Security and Welfare Reform. In future episodes we will go further but this week is about reforming and modernising these particular programs to ensure they are there for the next 75 years.

In This Episode we are talking about the autum statement about income tax and how to reform it. to ensure it becomes more competitive and raises more revenues , the reduction of the deficit and the long term reduction of debt., the re-industrialisation, of the country, reforming the NHS and Education along with re-thinking regulations.
