Ginny Seymour is the CEO of ALIGNE, the London-born womenswear brand she re-founded and reimagined in 2023 with a mission to redefine contemporary fashion through design-led, accessibly priced hero pieces for modern women. Born in Toronto, Ginny began her career in New York as a Contemporary Buyer at Saks Fifth Avenue and brings more than 20 years of global leadership across design, merchandising, product development, e-commerce, marketing and operations, with senior roles at Saks, Holt Renfrew, Hudson’s Bay Company, Roots Canada and Astrid & Miyu. Under her creative and strategic leadership, ALIGNE has built a distinct aesthetic rooted in confident silhouettes, sharp tailoring and refined everyday essentials, while growing significantly in the UK and thoughtfully expanding into the U.S. through its Nordstrom launch and new operational hub in New York. Known for its tailoring, outerwear and denim, the brand has cultivated a global community around confidence, craft and clothing with purpose. Beyond fashion, Ginny advocates for women’s empowerment, mental health and women’s sport, supporting initiatives including Smart Works and programs that uplift female athletes from the grassroots to professional level.   

This special episode was recorded in person at the iconic Hotel Chelsea during New York Fashion Week. Ginny’s realness comes through from the jump - she is sharp, honest and incredibly open about so many of the themes ambitious women and mothers need to hear. We talk about holding onto your ambition alongside motherhood, navigating imposter syndrome, trusting your gut, choosing collaboration and championing women over comparison, and embracing the trickier seasons of life that ultimately bring us clarity. 

Following the conversation we brought together 22 incredible women for an intimate community lunch at Borgo in New York City - from fashion creators and founders to authors and past podcast guests. As ALIGNE continues its expansion into the U.S., the day felt like a true full-circle moment for both the brand and this show. These are the moments The Big Move is all about: having honest conversations, sharing the highs and lows, and creating spaces for women to connect, lament and celebrate eachother.

After dancing professionally for years, Katia combined her passion for dance and fitness into a career when she founded DanceBody in 2013. A 15-year veteran in the wellness industry, Katia grew DanceBody from the ground up, starting with Private Sessions that quickly turned into sold out classes. This episode was recorded LIVE at Dancebody’s new studio in Westport CT amongst our collective communities of moms in celebration of Mother’s Day - the energy throughout the conversation and after in a sculpt workout taught by Katia’s Co-founder Courtnay Mariani was palpable.  This event format and morning felt like such a cool mark of Katia’s debut back to her Westport studio after having a baby just 5 months ago, as well as a moment to come together as moms, and celebrate eachother.  We definitely don’t get enough of these moments together - so here’s to manifesting many many more.

The brand was born from a brushstroke, a belief, and a bold idea: that clothing should be both joyful and approachable, without compromise. Her work has been worn by a wide range of influential women, including Michelle Obama, Gigi Hadid, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, and Kristen Wiig.  

Amy Guzzi is a mom of two, fashion stylist and influencer based in CT.  She's the founder of "The Stylist Effect" and her latest venture is Lewellyn, a line of handmade Italian shirts inspired by her family's love of timeless luxury.

The threadlines between these women were clear from the jump; both starting their fashion careers in their 20’s in NYC, what it takes to be successful in the fashion industry as well as the content world, career pivots, city to the suburbs moves, tying their name to the brands, and ultimately what it takes to continue to evolve in business in more complex seasons of life in work and motherhood.
