Brandon Willis, of New Albany, was killed in Wisconsin in 2022. He had a passion for animals and adventure. His parents have turned their hurt into a mission to keep his legacy alive through the Brandon Willis Scholarship. The scholarship sends a local student to South Africa to share his passion. Upper Arlington schools pushed back their first day to Monday due to severe weather damage. Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther declared an emergency for Columbus to free up resources. More than 29,000 people are still without power following Tuesday's storms. Recovery and response has stretched resources thin, but neighbors are stepping up to help each other.

The Breathing Association is one of two administrators in Franklin County that handles the distribution of LIHEAP funds. Flock Safety cameras have gotten a lot of attention nationwide. Law enforcement say the cameras are critical in solving a lot of their cases, but many people raise concerns over privacy and surveillance. A public meeting Monday lasted more than six hours and saw nearly 60 people address their concerns with the cameras. To sort through how Columbus is balancing the concerns of the people with the need of law enforcement, Columbus Councilmember Emmanuel Remy joins the conversation.

The Cherry Creek Church of Christ on Sullivant Avenue on Columbus' far west side caught fire just before 4 a.m. Monday morning. Officials for the Columbus Division of Fire said no one was inside the building as crews worked to put the fire out. Fire officials said church members were in the building just yesterday and believe a lighting strike could have been the cause.

The child endangerment case in Vinton County, OH has captured the attention of the nation. 10TV has been reporting on the case since 16 children were found in a home in Hamden in what law enforcement described as "deplorable." This is episode 2 of our series "The Hidden Children on Ohmer Street."

In "Part 2," Collin and Bryn talk to reporters Carla Rogner and Libby Cathey about new details revealed in court records. This includes birth certificates that revealed all of the children were born in hospitals and a truancy court order that reveals some insight into possible schooling for the children. The special also addresses questions of if the mother is a victim, after those hospital records revealed she had been pregnant nearly every year since she was 15 years old.

(03:09-04:47) Stolen car crashed into a house in historic Columbus neighborhood

Columbus Police say a stolen Kia was crashed into a home on Bryden Road in Columbus' Olde Towne East neighborhood. The car crashed into the home's gas meter, trigger a brief evacuation. 10TV was able to confirm was person was arrested. 

(04:48-09:10) CDC warning of salmonella in jalapenos

The CDC reports more than 340 people have taken sick across 27 states and 36 people have been hospitalized. Investigators says the peppers were grown in Mexico and processed by Coast Citrus Distributors. Chipotle and Qdoba have already removed affected peppers from their restaurants, but it's unclear if the peppers were sold in grocery stores.

(09:40-17:28) Businesses are fighting back after Buc-ee's sues a Beavercreek convenience store

Buc-ee's filed a lawsuit against Beaver's Mini Mart in Beavercreek, claiming the store's cartoon beaver logo was too close to that of Buc-ee's and that people would confuse the two. Beaver's Mini Mart is 15 miles from Buc-ee's Huber Heights store and has been there for decades. Now other local businesses have added beavers into their logos as an act of solidarity. An Upper Arlington bakery is selling cookies with the Beaver's Mini Mart logo on them with some of the money going to the store.

Dr. Dawn Goedde, the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for OSU Optometry, joins Collin and Bryn to talk about the importance of getting regular eye exams and what can be found that might go unnoticed.

His ex-wife is Ohio Republican Senator Bernie Moreno's daughter. Senator Moreno and President Trump have now weighed in on the allegations.

(02:58-06:34) Upper Arlington Break-Ins

Two teens were arrested early Monday morning after a number of overnight burglaries Sunday. Police are still looking for a third burglar seen in home surveillance video. Detectives are investigating at least five home burglaries in the Tewksbury Road area, but it's still unclear if anything was taken during the break-ins, according to an Upper Arlington police spokesperson. Officials believe the suspects randomly targeted houses, capitalizing on locations with unlocked doors or windows.

(06:35-07:58) Constitutional Amendment Would Enshrine Voter ID Laws in Ohio

Ohio voters will decide in November if requiring voter photo ID to cast a ballot should be enshrined in the state constitution after the Ohio Ballot Board approved the ballot language Monday. The amendment would require voters to show a government-issued photo ID in order to cast a ballot. The forms of valid identification listed in the measure are the same ones already required under state law: an Ohio driver's license, a state ID card, a U.S. passport, a U.S. military or Ohio National Guard ID, or a Department of Veterans Affairs ID. Republicans supporting the amendment say it would prevent future governing bodies from rolling back current Ohio law. Democrats against the amendment say it isn't needed. Voters will decide November 5.

(21:54-32:45) Rt. 23 / I-71 Connector Meetings

The state wants an easier way to get between Rt. 23 and I-71 in central Ohio as the region grows. It would cut through Morrow, Delaware and Marion Counties. Some people living in those counties aren't happy with the proposal. ODOT is holding six meetings from Tuesday to Thursday to get input about the proposed project. 

(33:00-40:24) Pickerington Local Schools Levy

Pickerington Local Schools Board of Education voted Monday night to put a 10-year, 0.75% income tax on the November ballot to fund the school system just months after voters rejected a more expensive proposal in May. the school board met last month and determined it needed to raise nearly $22 million in annual revenue. School leaders have warned the district is about two years away from being unable to meet its financial obligations if additional revenue is not secured.  Superintendent Dr. Charles Smialek joins Collin and Bryn on why the money is needed and what happens if the district can't pay its bills. 

(40:39-48:36) OSU Wants Your Toenails, Starbucks Brings Back Pumpkin Spice

Researchers at OSU want toenail clippings and baby teeth as part of a study on oilfield brine. These will help determine the long-term effects of a product used on Ohio roads.
