The Big Reviewski

No Die Hard, no Love Actually, no The Holiday.

No Home Alone, no Jingle All The Way, no Bad Santa.

What we've gone with are Christmas movies that are, essentially, movies set at Christmas, but you either A) forgot they were set at Christmas, because that is how good they are, or B) didn't fully realise they were set at Christmas in the first place.

So, if you're in the mood for something festive but don't want to pick from the same list of Christmas movies over and over again, you've come to the right place.

Watch our countdown of hidden gem Christmas movies in full right here...

Bring on the arguments.

Before you say anything, yes, we know 2021 isn't technically over yet.

There's every chance that Spider-Man: No Way Home or The Matrix Resurrections or Snakes On A Plane 7 (we wish this was real) could all be amazing and completely disrupt this list, and if that turns out to be the case, we're very sorry.

But! From the first 350 or so days of 2021, we reckon these are the 10 best movies released in Ireland.

Enjoy! And don't forget to let us know your favourites too...

New stuff from Steven Spielberg, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sandra Bullock, Jason Statham and LOADS more!

Not sure what to watch in the cinema?

Not sure what to watch at home?

Need some direction in your life and/or precious viewing time?

Don't worry, Eoghan and Rory are here to help (and so is Matthew Macfadyen AKA Tom Wambsgans from Succession!).

Enjoy...

On this week's episode, we've only got the one big cinema release, but we more than make up for it with the amount of new stuff to watch at home!

So if you're not heading to the cinema to see Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (which we also chatted to the stars about!), then your selection box at home includes The Power of the Dog, Chucky, Devs, The Last Duel and Godzilla VS. Kong!

Plus we take a look at some quietly added movies to your favourite streaming services this week, PLUS a preview of Inventing Anna, the brand new thriller series from the creator of Bridgerton!

The Big Reviewski's Rory Cashin (@roarEcashin on Twitter) chats to the cast of Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City.

Kaya Scodelario, Robbie Amell, Avan Jogia and Tom Hopper discuss playing Claire Redfield, Chirs Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy and Albert Wesker, the influences of the games, the Easter Eggs that fans of the series might notice, and LOADS more...

We chatted to Kristofer Hivju about his role as Nivellen in the second season of The Witcher.

He chats about his time in Ireland - having filmed Game of Thrones and Cocaine Bear here - as well as working with Henry Cavill in the new season of The Witcher, and his character which he compares to Beauty & The Beast.

As we get closer to the end of 2021, each week seems to be busier and more full of STUFF than the week before!

So on this week's episode of The Big Reviewski, your hosts Eoghan Doherty and Rory Cashin take a look at the big screen releases - including House of Gucci and Disney's new animated movie Encanto - as well as everything on the small screen.

Special mention must go to Marvel's new show Hawkeye, because our special guests this week are none other than Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld.

But there is also all of the news from Ridley Scott about the next entries in the Blade Runner and Alien franchises, plus the trailer for the second season of Emily In Paris gives the guys a hunger for some French punning...

The Big Reviewski's Rory Cashin (@roarEcashin on Twitter) chats to Jeremy Irons about his role as Rodolfo Gucci in Ridley Scott's epic true-crime story, House of Gucci.

Irons discusses reuniting with Al Pacino on screen after two decades, the Shakespearean influences of this movie, and his first impressions of Lady Gaga.

The Big Reviewski gang - Eoghan Doherty and Rory Cashin - chat to the stars and director of Disney and Marvel's brand new show, Hawkeye.

Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld discuss their roles as the original Hawkeye, and his sorta-protege, as well as their favourite Christmas movies of all time.

Meanwhile, the show's director Rhys Thomas talks about the strong Irish connection to the Hawkeye show and how his days directing episodes of Saturday Night Live helped with this project.

On a normal week, you'd think that having the IRISH EXCLUSIVE interview with the World's Sexiest Man (aka Paul Rudd) would be enough, but as always, The Big Reviewski has even more to bring you!

We review and preview all of the new arrivals this week, including Ghostbusters: Afterlife, King Richard, Tiger King 2, Wheel of Time and loads more.

Eoghan and Rory also take a look at the new footage from the three upcoming MCU shows arriving in Disney+ in 2022 and beyond, as well as the brand new streaming service now available to Irish customers...
