  • Warming Yourself from other people's fire - The Big Run - Episode 100 - Danny in Conversation with Tilly GW
    Welcome to the 100th episode.
Yes that's right, we have reached 100 episodes. I’m not quite sure how but I am sure that every single conversation has been stimulating and so rewarding and I am grateful to all the guests who have given their time, insight and perspective by coming on the show.
A previous guest, the wonderful Tilly, who recently joined me in Victoria park proposed the idea that she would like to interview me. So I thought, as an experiment that maybe for episode 100 you might like a little bit more insight into your host.
Tilly joined me on London's south bank for coffee and pastries. We talk about being more than one thing, the version of yourself you present to the different people your around, dealing with loss, running as a performance and so much more.
    I hope you enjoy

Also, an accomplished runner after taking up the sport following his first marathon in 2016 he is often found on the trails in Norway hoovering up vert and pushing himself physically, taking on UTMB CCC in 2019 and again this year in August.
In this conversation we talk about the simplest definition of what he does for a living, Norwegian food staples, technical outdoor wear as a reflection of our times and that sometimes ultra running is just plain hard.

About The Big Run

From the publisher's feed

Running is big. Elite athletes, records, technology, cutting edge gear. But it’s big for the people who lace up, head out and grab some miles. Day in, Day out. Whether it’s making it around the block, your first mile unbroken, feeling part of a community, clearer in your head or breaking what’s physically possible.
