Iowa State University Extension's East Central Field Agronomist, Rebecca Vittetoe, talks soil moisture with us as her area of Iowa saw some of the highest rainfall totals yesterday. Brian Hoops from Midwest Market Solutions breaks down the markets for us today and talks about what needs to happen to sustain a rally in grain trade. Smart Carbon Network Executive Director Joe Heinrich talks about the state of the Midwest carbon capture industry.

Monday's Second Hour: Bobby Martens, the Iowa Institute for Cooperatives Endowed Professor of Economics and Associate Professor of Economics at Iowa State, talks with David about his recent trip with students following along the soybean supply chain. Central Iowa Field Agronomist Meaghan Anderson from Iowa State University Extension addresses the sprinkle of rainfall seen in the middle of the state this morning and talks about the broader view of drought heading into 2024 planting season. And Jamey Kohake from Paragon Investments closes the show with an update on markets.

Monday's First Hour: Kylie Peterson from the Iowa Beef Industry Council gives an update on the nomination period for the Iowa's Best Burger contest with almost 6,000 nominations and the deadline coming up next Tuesday. She also talks about calving season on the family farm. Paragon Investments' Jamey Kohake talks about today's green grain markets, the speculation of if the market has found a bottom, and has a preview for the next WASDE report coming up on Friday.
