We are continuing the China Series with an amazing guest for this week in Political Science Professor Matthew Fuhrmann of Texas A&M. In this episode; we talk with Professor Fuhrmann about his studies into the fulfillment of alliances in the modern and post-modern age and the impact of nuclear weapons on alliance signaling, as well as topics which include U.S. positions with allies near and in the South China Sea and the U.S. position on Taiwan.
In addition to being a current Political Science Professor at TAMU, Professor Fuhrmann is the co-author with Professor Todd Sechser of the book Nuclear Weapons and Coercive Diplomacy, has held various faculty positions such as at Stanford University's Center for International Security and Cooperation as a Visiting Associate Professor, and has been a Stanton Nuclear Security Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations and a Pre-Doctoral Research Fellow at Harvard University's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.

This week's flashpoint focused on Honduras' positioning of itself in the world of vaccine diplomacy and the Israel-Palestine conflict, which has gone from riots and protests to showing signs of possible all-out warfare. We hope you guys enjoy it.

This episode will be focused on China and Cryptocurrency, with this being the second installment in our China Series. To learn more about China’s impact, maneuvers, and relationship with cryptocurrency, Phil and I talked with Daniel Langeveld, who is also known online by his handle “Silver Raven.” Daniel has a political science BA and an MBA, with over 10 years of investing experience and knowledge within the financial industry, with his main job managing a SaaS platform. His financial expertise and focus are in semiconductors, tech, games, and commodities, with cryptocurrency being his more recent research focus and foray. We hope you guys enjoy the episode!
This is the first episode of our new and improved series approach where Phil and I will be providing you guys a focused and in-depth analysis about either a country, region, person, or foreign policy idea that is important and affecting what is going on in our globalized and international world. The first series we are conducting is a series on China, examining its role and approaches to various issues surrounding the world and examining how others have viewed China and react to it. This first episode of the series will focus on China’s approaches to Latin America and Chinese Fishing off the coasts of independent countries and their EEZ's with Mr. Joshua Hyles, who has degrees from both Baylor and Auburn University and the author of the book “Guiana and the Shadows of Empire.” We hope you all enjoy it!
The world of Foreign Affairs, International Relations, and Conflict is an ever-changing political landscape containing various geopolitical issues, historical quagmires, and media spin that make it extremely difficult to follow and grasp. Micah Austin and Philip Webster attempt to simplify and escape from the spin by examining situations, conflicts, issues, and regions through conversations with experts and policymakers in the field and in-depth personal analysis. I guess you could say we listen and speak softly but carry a big stick when necessary.
This is a previous episode to listen to for a limited time only. Enjoy
This episode was recorded on Dec 4, 2020, and focuses on the importance of local politics in the greater government arena we live in, while also talking about governments reactions to Covid, BLM, and many other great topics. Our guest for this episode was Commissioner Marez of Precinct 3 in Nueces County, Texas. He was an amazing guest and highly qualified individual to discuss the topics of local politics as he himself is a locally elected official. Hope guys enjoy this conversation that Phil and I had with the Commissioner.
