Bah, humbug!

The notice listed his age as 227 years old, and said that the funeral ceremony would be conducted at the North Pole Chapel.

When word of Father Christmas' demise began to spread, Aftenposten took down the advertisement from its obituary page and apologized profusely for allowing the notice to slip through its internal review systems.

* A Hong Kong toilet manufacturer is drawing attention to its products in an unusual way with an outdoor installation featuring cartoon poop characters sitting on commodes.

WOODY is a globally recognized and respected expert, author, lecturer and consultant on the global and local solutions to climate change. His core advocacy is in the economics for smart green communities. During the 1990s he was Manager of Strategic Planning for Technology Transfer at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) for the University of California and the U.S. Department of Energy. While at LLNL he served as one of the contributing scientists and experts to the work of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which was awarded the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize.

His current work generates responses to climate change from governments and businesses, using public policy, science and technology, and their economics and finance methods. In 2004 he founded Clark Strategic Partners (CSP), a global environmental and renewable energy consulting firm using his political-economic expertise to guide, advise and implement public and private projects advancing sustainable, smart communities as well as colleges and universities, shopping malls, office buildings and film studios. In 2014, building on his mass media background, he founded Clark Mass Media Company (CM2C), which specializes in documentary, education and dramatic social issues.

Recent authored and edited books are "The Next Economics" (Springer, 2012) and" Global Sustainable Communities Handbook" (Elsevier, 2014). His latest coauthored books, with Grant Cooke, are "The Green Industrial Revolution" (Elsevier, 2014), "China's Green Industrial Revolution" (in Mandarin, 2015) and "Smart Green Cities" (Gower, late 2015).

A group of hackers associated with the Anonymous online activist community took their "war" on Islamic State up a notch this week when they took control of an ISIS website and replaced it with an ad for Prozac.

Previous ISIS websites on the "open" internet in common usage have been attacked by Anonymous over the past year. This week's attack represents the first time a site on the so-called Tor darknet has been targeted by the hacktivists.

Cybersecurity experts commented that ISIS online security leaves much to be desired and did not provide much resistance to the Anonymous splinter group GhostSec which claimed responsibility for the Prozac ad.

Perhaps the next stage in the internet "war" on ISIS is to hack their credit cards and then use them to hit gas stations up and down the 405 freeway with low value "signature only" charges.

Boy, wouldn't that cheese them off!

The immortal words of country star Kenny Rogers - "You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em" - are clearly on the mind of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev this week. He is reportedly calling on public servants in his country to retire after 25 years in the job in order to make way for fresh blood.

Interestingly, though, he has not yet announced any personal plans to resign from office. You see, he has been in office for 25 years and shows no signs of stepping down. Nazarbayev first came to power in 1989 when Kazakhstan was still a part of the Soviet Union.

A local media outlet has reported that he regaled his cabinet with the claim that there should be no "jobs for life" in the Kazakhstan government and that after 25 years, "it's time to go."

* A 7-year-old Rubik's cube enthusiast solved his puzzle in 8.72 seconds at a championship event in Porto Algegre, Brazil.

* The Indian Department of Posts announced residents will soon be able to send mail featuring their own faces with stamps made from customers' selfies.

One of the world's longest serving political prisoners, Murod Juraev, was released after over 20 years in an Uzbekistan jail.

Originally sentenced to nine years in jail in 1994, Juraev had his term repeatedly lengthened because of petty infringements. His prison sentence was extended four times - in 2004, 2006, 2009 and 2012 - after authorities found he had broken prison rules for crimes, including "peeling carrots incorrectly."

Just goes to show that there is "hard time" and there is "not peeling your carrots correctly hard time!"

After a heart-breaking 10 month absence, French fries have returned to McDonald's restaurants across Venezuela. Unfortunately, they now come with a hefty price, as well.

So it's a not-so-Happy Meal now, I guess...

At the official government exchange rate, the problem is jaw-dropping. An order of fries currently costs the Venezuelan equivalent of $78.75, more than the price for a burger and drink.

Despite the initial enthusiasm that greatest the initial news reports, the bitter reality is that the supply problems related to French fries demonstrates the serious structural problems with the Venezuelan economy.

So much for the "Super Size Me" official exchange rates!
