(Feb 5, 2009) I talk a bit about my latest trip to Costco, by way of The Diaper Genie. Trust me, there is no actual genie inside The Diaper Genie. Just a big plastic poop-sausage.
I have always believed that running in flip-flops is a bad idea, especially on the sidewalk. And, unfortunately, I was proven right.
It turns out I’m not being paranoid, I’m being “parent-noid.” (Turns out I didn’t coin that phrase. Darn!)
I’m gonna say it while it’s still potentially prophetic: The Superhero thing is gonna end with the release of Star Wars. I feel like it’s dying anyway, but Han Solo is gonna put nails in that coffin.
Who’s gonna play the young Han Solo?
The high school drama department did a fantastic job on the fall play. And, I ran into someone who actually remembered me.
Todd Louiso directed Love Liza and Hello I Must Be Going, and is the co-writer of the screen adaptation of MacBeth.
You can watch the Chi Ball Master video, the No Touch KO Karate Master video, or the Tai Chi Master you can’t touch videos.
Still recovering from yet another bout of bronchitis. Ugg. I was going to record today but did not want to hear myself snip and cough for an hour. Trust me.
We skip ahead a couple of Pillbox episodes…
Okay, seriously…as I’m typing this, I’m having a Zone 9 failure. Seriously. Beep, beep, beep…
My knees hurt, my foot hurts and I keep biting my lip. What the hell is going on? Did I cross some age line and now I’m just literally falling apart? Great…
Went to a couple of Halloween parties in expensive neighborhoods. Wow. Just…wow.
Hudson had a thing below his chin. I was sure it was nothing. So was the first doctor. And the second…
The article I wrote is Wikipedia Doesn’t Want You (How the Deletionists are Making Sure Wikipedia Isn’t Awesome) Check it out if you dare.
By Father’s Day (June 21) I will write/publish Stay-at-Home Dan, the book based largely on the stories from this podcast. If you have a favorite story from the 11+ years, and you think it’d make a good written story, let me know. I’m lucky to have the luxury of too much material to choose from, and it’s a bit mind boggling…
Thanks for the e-mail, Megan!
Reissue of a Halloween-ish show from 2013. The “Paul” whose name I couldn’t come up with is Paul J. Barrie Jr. of the “Window to the Magic” Disney podcasts. Sorry, Paul!
No new show this week. I ran out of time and Hudson took half the studio to school with him…
You can see the Honda commercial here.

In case you haven’t heard, due to circumstances beyond my control, The Bitterest Pill Premium is no longer. For the time being, the new shows will be free to all. Yes, the wall is down, the gates are open, and the listeners…well, the listeners are long gone. Tell a friend to come back. Please…
My daughter ended up getting the job on the car commercial. She spent a roughly eight hour day shooting a thirty second commercial. Take after take, the same lines over and over. Holy cow, she is such a pro. So, she did all that and all I needed to do was get her there on time, keep her fed and not yell at anyone. I barely succeeded.
Tallu wanted to be a waffle for Halloween. Great. We all know what that means, right? Yes, I got to make a waffle costume. A huge, expensive and completely uncomfortable costume that took hours of my life. Thanks goodness (and badness, I supposed) Halloween only comes once a year…
I am getting old. I just can’t think of…words…anymore. There is no more memory, there is only Zool.
I almost took a spontanious nap at CVS. I wanted a 99¢ can of Diet Coke, but my body decided it might wanna reboot.
Pretty sure I need to go back to looking at maps myself, instead of just doing whatever my phone says to do. When following a navigation system, how
As it turns out, according to the editors of Wikipedia, I may not actually be a “noteworthy” podcaster. Yes, many mentions in major publications, television news interviews, write-ups in several books, etc. but I may not meet the requirements on Wikipedia for my own page. I’m not a noteworthy podcaster?
WHO TAUGHT MESHACH TAYLOR ABOUT PODCASTING? DAN KLASS, THAT’S WHO!
We’ll get to the “gender neutral pronoun tangent” another time.
(rerelease) WordPress keeps eating my posts, just like my recorder ate my recent show. What the heck is going on? I don’t even want to try to post anything. Will this post post? Let’s see…
Holy cow, it worked! Now, let’s see if I can add this little…addition. Hmm…
Excellent. Okay, on to the point at hand: What do you do when you let a stray dog into your favorite Thai restaurant during the dinner rush?
This episode was originally only available to Premium Pill subscribers. (12/17/2008)
They kept talking about the Senior Center. I didn’t know we even had a Senior Center. Is that what the strange building is next to the library? The one that looks like a windowless Pizza Hut? Well, I heard they have a stage, and to find out if it’s true, I actually have to go into the Senior Center. And face myself.
I get bronchitis at least once a year. This year it was pretty bad. Usually, with the help of some meds, I win. I won again this year, but it was almost a TKO.
Don’t tell the kids, they don’t need to know.

Apparently, this is now a home repair show. I can’t imagine how many trips to Home Depot were made in the creation of this edition of The Pill. I fix the disposal gasket (and break the faucet), I fix the hose (and break THAT faucet) and I fix the dryer (or at least attempt to fix the dryer like the Fonz would). It was so much easier when I was a kid and would just rip the house apart in the name of my education.

This time we talk about the battle of the 24-hour rental car prices (I thought I won), physically attractive humans of female biology and apparently African ancestry, the Chevy Pixel, the arguement about Route 90, my fantasy about getting a tailgater to endo* off the freeway, my facial hair issues, not getting into the high school theater, not driving around with Jeff Newland, Northside Johnny, driving around town, falling asleep during Mamet, not being part of the audience, the garage door opener, and my lame response to the question “So, what do you do?”
* I think we used to use the term “endo” back in my ride-motocross-cycles-on-the-roads-of-Perinton days to mean to flip over, as in “end over end”
