Part two will be released in a couple of days.  ENJOY!

  • PILLBOX #157: Tired

Rereleasing this one while I recover from my annual bought of bronchitis.  Not ironically, it’s called “Tired.”  Enjoy! (I’ll record a new show or two immeduately after I stop coughing)

    ———

(Originally released December 15, 2008) I lost a show.  I recorded an entire hour long epsode, and it was lost.  I don’t know what happened.  Some sort of technical mishap during the recording process or the saving process…some process got all fubar and ZAP!  No more show.

The episode was originally going to be entitield “Dog Tired.”  Well, here is the “Tired” part.  I’ll try to get the “Dog” part out to you sometime soon.    Enjoy!

  • #335: Hair Suits from the Mall

(PART ONE) My vanity has led me to some serious manscaping. Between my lacking musculature and the aggressive pruning, I now have the arms of a 12 year old girl. I’m not sure why I’m telling you all of this. I suppose I just don’t want you to be surprised when I shave my entire body. It’s just that now that I record the show “on camera,” I’m getting even more self concious than usual. Ugg.

Facebook and Amazon and ebay need to get together and give me a “Seriously, No Thanks” button.

(PART TWO) My computer continues to restart itself, so the next step was to take it to the Apple Store and have them wipe the hard drive clean.  Theoretically.  I thought the hard part was going to be backing up all my data using a USB 2.o connection, but it was actually finding the Apple Store.

Thanks, as always, to everyone who listens.  Thanks to the Patreon supporters.  As of now, all the supporters will recieve access to the new episodes the moment they are finished.  Then, the shows will hit the regular feed a day or two later.  It wasn’t my idea, it was Jerry’s.  Blame Jerry. (I love the name Jerry)

  • #334: It’s Not You, It’s Me (It’s Always Me)

This podcast took WAY too long to record.  This was Week 2 of trying to figure out the best way to stream video of the podcast recording sessions.  It’s been a pain in the ass. Thanks to everyone who stopped by during any of my…four tests? Five? I lost count.  What conclusion did I come to?  If I try to stream the show, I spend the whole show talking about the stream.  Well, the stream and Staples, Office Depot, the Mom & Pop printers in the neighborhood, Daniel Clowes, Woody Harrelson, Grady Lee Richmond, Jolene Adams…

A video excerpt is AVAILABLE HERE!

  • #333: Hugo Is a Mean Little Dog Who Wants a Cookie

This episode was just endless in its making.  A couple trips to the studio, hours or redacting names, and several bouts of heat prostration.

We talk about our mean little dog and how he likes his Wednesday cookies, how I bent the door of the car, and some other stuff I can’t remember right now.  You’ll just have to listen.

Next week I’ll post a less edited version with the extra 9 mintues of babble from when I really, REALLY needed a drink.

This was the beginning of a new phase of The Bitterest Pill.  From now on, baring any unforseen technical issues, I’m going to live video stream all the recording sessions.  Hope you can join me!

CHECK OUT THIS EXCERPT from the recording of this episode, available for a limited time only.

  • #332: Jury Duty and Rats…

I briefly discuss taking down the Confederate flags (yeah) and the recent turn of events regarding gay marriage (yeah). I blather on, trying to keep my head together while the migraine medicine kicks in.  Oh, well.

I couldn’t keep getting out of jury duty.  I put it off, and put it off and then I had to go. But, a dear friend got me out of being on an actual jury…

There was a rat in the backyard.  A couple of times.

  • #331: Melophobia Americana

Back to the podcast after being away, working on a short “film.”  I hesitate to call it a short “film,” since I haven’t seen a piece of actual film since 1999.  But, since everyone else seems to use that word everytime they whip out their iPhone to “film” their kid at the playground (by holding the damned thing vertically.  STOP!), I’m going to acquiesce and get on with my life…

I made a short film in two weeks, as part of this year’s Collaborative Filmmakers Challenge (no apostrophe). If you follow me on Twitter and Facebook, you know how the story ends.  You just don’t know the details…

While recording this episode, I simultaneously broadcast using Periscope, an app for your smartphone where you can send and receive streaming video.  Still working out the kinks, but I think it worked and will continue to try it out.  I think everyone that stopped by could see me, and when the video was posted to Periscope, it was from the opposite side of my camera.  Huh?  I’ll work it out… (follow me @danklass)

PS: I have lived in Los Angeles so long, when I say “horrible weather,” I mean “It’s been overcast.”

  • #330: Without Making You Angry?

I had to be the parent-on-call during one of my daughter’s dance comepetitions.  So, instead of just sitting in the audience, tweeting about the other company’s lame costumes, I had to stand around outside making it clear I wasn’t trying to see into the dressing room.

I burned the butter.  I always seem to burn the butter, so to speak.  Always.

If you can, please support the show on Patreon. THANKS.

  • #329: The Title Has Been Redacted

Next time you see me talking on my iPhone, you’ll never see me the same again…

This episode we talk about the handful of auditions I had last week.  Due to mandatory Non-Disclosure Agreements, I can not tell you the titles of the shows, the stars of the shows, what the characters were…

    Clearly I am nuts.  Enjoy.

  • #328: I Totally Love the 80’s, for sure

We put on an 80’s prom. Tawny Kitaen was there.  Tawny Kitaen makes everything sexy.

This time we talk about Westchester, voted “Most Up and Coming Town in Los Angeles” by Chain-Smoking Limo Driver Magazine.  We talk about yogurt and discount clothing and building an IMAX on a sphincter.
