  • TBF 259 Grammatical Error
Heavy Hitters in the House this week, as Robert blesses us with his absence today choosing babes over bros like a true heathen.
Mo and Peter jump in the deep end for Sorry not Sorry with Mo wondering how Pete would encourage new, and seasoned Christians to become more confident in hearing and knowing they've heard the voice of God and Peter firing back wondering about Christ saying that some of the disciples would not die before seeing his kingdom come and if this was the case if there are people alive who've lived for longer than 2000 years or if his kingdom had already come.
Following Sorry not Sorry we discuss what we think the christian response should be to newer gender identification trends, this mostly around Demi Lovato's recent coming out as non binary during the launch of her new podcast. We discuss if there is a biblical perspective on whether or not this can be considered sin and how we might relate to it. It did get a bit political to say the least.
For our hookups Peter suggested checking out the latest and final season of the Netflix Anime Castlevania, have a watch here https://www.netflix.com/gb/title/80095241, and Mo suggested having a listen to a track by Cassidy called Da 4 Elements check it out here https://open.spotify.com/track/4KjM6S1BS6f8elzG6hZuLG?si=81e02e4d2cf74945

  • TBF 257 Wholly Unjust
Welcome to another episode of the Blacksmith's Furnace we're happy to have you!
It was a full furnace with all the boys and after Robert very nearly initiated a smash bros episode Peter spared your ears kicking off Sorry Not Sorry with a random hypothetical question on who would survive out of the furnace in a Hunger Games style event, and Mo wanted to know what the difference is , if any, between Theology and Doctrine.
We then go on to talk about the relationship between the Law of the land and corrupt Church leadership and whether failing church leaders should be "covered" or if they should face the full extent of the wrath of the Law when they are found in sin and in crime!
For our hookups Mo suggested checking out a Netflix show called Yasuke an anime about a black samurai, have a watch here https://www.netflix.com/gb/title/80990863, Peter suggested checking out a different Netflix show called Jupiter's Legacy a show about the first generation of superheroes and their navigating passing the torch to the new generation. https://www.netflix.com/gb/title/80244953 and Robert suggested a youtube show called Blue Therapy which is a show about ratchet couple's therapy, check it out here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjZ_DAQDDYg

  • TBF 256 Do It For The Culture
It's a full furnace in full effect this week and we have a fun fairly deep conversation about culture, tradition and what we are building for future generations in that regard.
Peter took the hot seat but everyone contributed to questions about how one would summarise the entirety of the bible and the hardest things we've had to unlearn in our christian walks.
    For our hookups
Peter suggested checking out Michael B Jordan's latest movie, Without Remorse on Prime video, have a watch here https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0499097/ and Robert suggested an old but great album from Neyo called Red have a listen here https://open.spotify.com/album/1e5Uy0zFKpSCtuak8LQb8p?autoplay=true. Mo had to leave on daddy duty and unfortunately couldn't furnish the furnace with a hookup.

  • TBF 255 Spit In Justice's Mouth (18+)
Peter thought it a good idea to leave the Smash Bros unsupervised and they did not disappoint!
For Sorry, Not Sorry, Robert asked Moses what sermon he would preach on Ezekiel 23:20 and Moses asked Robert how he would handle a girl asking him to beat her and spit in the mouth in the bedroom.
The conversation became a lot more serious when the duo discussed the fallout of the Derek Chauvin trial and what a Christian response to him should be.
For Hook Ups, Moses recommend the Meek Mill song, What's Free (https://open.spotify.com/album/6UYZEYjpN1DYRW0kqFy9ZE?highlight=spotify:track:4iQ5gmTAzWfK8JyFC2LBox) and Robert hooked up the spoken word album Black Boy Gold by Jasmine Mans (https://soundcloud.com/jasminemans/sets/blackboygold)

  • TBF 254 Make Luther Black Again
First things First. We're so sorry we left you without an episode last week, things just couldn't align but we'll be sure to make sure it doesn't happen again.
Now... welcome all to another episode of the Blacksmith's Furnace. In trying to put things right, it's a full furnace today and we spray from the hip for Sorry not Sorry with everyone throwing a grenade of a question on to the Hot seat
Peter starts the onslaught with a classic apologetics style question pondering where Cain got his wife from. Rob follows suit wondering why John was the only don who felt it important to point out he was the disciple that Christ loved. Mo finished off asking what we think the mission of the Church is from God's point of view and in carrying out that mission how do we interact with those who've been hurt by different expressions of that mission.
We then go on to talk about the recent comments from BBC's diversity chief regarding Idris Elba's portrayal of Luther which insinuated that because the character didn't fit enough stereotypes it wasn't authentically black. We discuss whether black media will ever work if such stereotypes aren't continually presented.
For our Hookups Peter suggested a new show called The Chosen which is likely one of the best portrayals of the Gospels ever done! Have a watch here [https://watch.angelstudios.com/thechosen](https://watch.angelstudios.com/thechosen)
Mo suggested checking out an old school song from Israel Houghton and the New breed called Here I am to worship if you endured Rob's mercifully short but despicable rendition of the song and would like to cleanse your aural pallette have a listen here [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULwKXfTQXE4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULwKXfTQXE4)
And Rob suggested watching an old school movie called Memento check out the trailer here [https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0209144/](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0209144/)

The mandem continued to talk about the superstar who had horses in the back, giving a break down of the video and how much responsiblity Christians must take because of the hate Lil Nas X was sent his way by them. They as discussed whether Christians should fear demonic things when we're backed by God.
