The Blacksmith's Furnace

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening! Welcome to another episode of the Blacksmith's furnace with your boys Rob, Pete and Mo! This week's episode was especially fun as we had a very special guest in the "metaphorical building".

Shawn Woods is a trainee priest in the church of England who's friends with Mo and who's been a longtime listener of the pod.

It was a real pleasure having him on and as if that wasn't enough Shawn was even bold enough to take a turn in the hot seat dealing with questions on if sinning after fasting cancels it out (of course this was Robert's question), why God didn't speak a boat into existence instead of having Noah spend years building one, and how he would deal with a couple that wanted to get married but weren't as mature or as rooted in their faith.

After absolutely holding his own in the hot seat Shawn fired back with a question of his own to the furnace, leading us to discuss if the world would be a better place if everyone could read everyone else's mind.

Following a very interesting Sorry not sorry we then go on to talk about the recent controversy surrounding marriage and relationship Guru Derrick Jaxn who recently came forward confession some infidelity in his own marriage. We talk about celebrity culture and the dangers of placing people on pedestals.

For our hookups Peter suggested a hack with the Edge web browser for reading longer articles where you can have the browser read the article aloud for you, the shortcut is Ctrl+Shift+U, Mo suggested a podcast called The Disruptors have a listen here h[ttps://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/sho-baraka-evades-the-evangelical-edit/id1495107302?i=1000464485441](https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/sho-baraka-evades-the-evangelical-edit/id1495107302?i=1000464485441), Shawn also suggested a podcast called The model health have a listen here [https://themodelhealthshow.com/podcasts/](https://themodelhealthshow.com/podcasts/). The Rock and The Rockstar holding down the fort this week in the absence of man lyk Mo. Looks like acquiring a masters ahanges people!!!

Both Pete and Rob took turns in the hot seat with Rob dealing with the recent news of an LGBTQ+ professing artist winning some Christian awards and reflecting on Kanye West doing similar in Christian rap. Pete in turn had to deal with how he would explain the modern progressive changes that are happening in society like same sex parents to his daughter.

We then go on to talk about the recent video of renowned Gospel artist Kirk Franklin completely losing his cool and dropping all kinds of profanity in an argument with his son. We discuss the response this has had from the Christian community and give our thoughts on Kirk's actions and words and what they mean. At the end of the day , despite anything we think we do hope that relationship is healed and renewed and the family are well!

For our hookups Peter suggested checking out the new Snyder cut of Justice League and Rob suggested having a watch of the movie Inside Out which despite having watched it before still managed to get him tearing up!

Possibly Peter's worst showing to date at least by the standards of the cancel culture we live it but this weeks episode of the furnace is full of incomplete, not fully fleshed out unpopular opinions on gender roles and equality, safety, and why everyone should do some form of martial arts.

The Rock and the Rockstar talk about the state of society following the horrific revelations about the kidnapping and murder of Sarah Everard, and try to find some lessons to be taken away from this tragic event.

They also go one for one in the hot seat for sorry not sorry with Rob asking if it would be adultery to sleep with a clone of one's wife and Peter asking why it's unacceptable for a man to require spousal support from a woman in a marriage gone bad.

Hopefully there's some redemption to be found in the hookups suggested today.

Peter suggested watching Straight Outta Compton now available on Netflix and Rob suggested checking out an instagram account that sets walking challenges for members based on popular and interesting physical locations, check out the Conqueror challenges on instagram here https://instagram.com/the_conqueror_challenges?igshid=1on4iosvz6yh

Welcome to another full furnace with Rob and the boys!

This week we talk regret. Things we wished we did and things we wish we didn't and how we deal with the feelings of missing out or missing opportunities after the fact.

We also took turns in the hot seat with Peter getting super personal with issues he has with Moses? Rob shoot a hot hypothetical at Mo regarding what he would do if his wife admitted lusting after one of his friends and Mo asking Peter what safe guards he would put in place to prevent other races from doing what white \ western Christians have done in white washing Christianity

Welcome welcome welcome, to another episode of the Blacksmith's furnace.

It's once more a full furnace with Peter finally returned and somewhat recovered from his move.

Peter jumps right back into the hot seat and deals with questions about how he would biblical engage with anti vaccine advocates and things he's learnt about sex post marriage that he wishes other people knew.

Very random indeed and keeping on brand Rob had some questions about innovation and creativity in the church.

He also displayed his bad taste in music by not recognising any of the current great christian artists and had a very interesting question on a very randomly specific sexual roleplay scenario.

Enough said

For our hookups

The Smash Bros were back at it once again!! In this week's Sorry Not Sorry, Robert asked Moses if there was any biblical backing to anointing oil/water having super natural properties. Mo then hit back and asked how Robert would navigate talking to his babe about body image issues.

This week's conversation was centred on the moral ethics of Christians turning radical and ruling over everyone for the greater good as we believe we know the right way to live...

Hook Ups

Robert suggested the Youtube channel Tola Talks (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPbDMZbs3I-ndRs6SZD233Q), which deals with personal and purposeful development.

With the absence of Peter…Enter the Smash Bros!!!

For Sorry Not Sorry, Robert asked Mo if God views abortions done to save the mother’s life as a sin and Moses asked the Great One about what he would say to believers and non-believers in regards to the things Ravi Zacharias did whilst alive.

The duo then discussed Valentine’s Day and what it looks like for men to be romanced. They then discussed whether women should demand monogamy if they can’t fulfil their men’s sexual desires…

In today's late night session Peter takes a seat in the hot seat for Sorry not Sorry. Rob wanted to know about the nature and beginnings of Evil in the devil and what's to stop it being birthed again once all is said and done and Mo wanted to know what the thought process was for Peter when choosing to leave his Church to join and serve in a new one.

We then go on to talk about having the conversation about the birds and the bees with our kids, and what the mentality was behind making the decision to bring children into this world in the first place.

Welcome to another episode of the Blacksmith's Furnace. In today's episode Red mike Rob took the hot seat and provided his opinion on what an appropriate response from the church should look like in the event of failings of the leadership and whether the new president elect desecrated the Bible he swore in on when he knows his policies are against it.

We then go on to talk about our personal views on when violence is appropriate and in the words of Rob, if it's ok for a christian to be about that life when faced with conflict.

For our hookups, Peter suggests a productivity technique for all the anime lovers called the Animedoro, it's a variation of the pomodoro technique where one works for 40 to 60 minutes and then watches an episode of their favourite Anime (or sitcom) without the intro or outro. Welcome one, welcome all to another episode of the Blacksmith's furnace with Robert, Pete and man lyk Mo out here!!!

Today we were graced with the lovely presence of the ever insightful Dreya and we had an interesting conversation about gambling and if there's ever a "holy" way to do it or a formula to win?

Rob also throws out an interesting question we' love to hear your response to, "If you could ask God for anything without consequence, what would it be?"

Peter took a turn in the hot seat today, fielding three hot questions on what's to stop another angelic rebellion like Lucifer's from ever happening again, what could be between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2 and whether repentance can save us from reaping some of the fruits of the seed we planted in sin.
