In this episode, Derreck is back to discuss a brand new game for the podcast. We are discussing The Darwin Project. This is a battle royale game from Scavengers Studio.

Before getting into the game Derreck updates everyone on some news for the podcast about what changes are already here and some potential changes in the near future. Derreck also discusses how he came upon finding The Darwin Project and gives a shout out to some fellow podcasters who lead him to the game.

Then Derreck dives into the basics of The Darwin Project and talks about what makes the game unique. He discusses what the director is, all about crafting items, and the hunting and tracking elements of the game. Derreck breaks things down on a surface level to help newcomers to the game understand the basics. In future episodes about this game Derreck will dive deeper into specific topics regarding The Darwin Project. However, Derreck gives his opinions on the game and talks about why it is unique.

Derreck breaks down all four of the main categories of fighting, shooting, cardio, and wits and helps you determine what skills are the best in these categories.

In addition, Derreck goes over what a lot of these skills pair well with and talks about some of the best skill pairings in the game. Lastly, before ending the episode, Derreck breaks these skills down into 4 tiers to outline which ones truly shine above the rest and gives what he believes are the top 5 skills in the game.

In this episode, Derreck talks with returning guest Hanzomain (Monty) for his record 5th guest appearance on the podcast. We discuss the free to download game "The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit" by Dontnod entertainment.

We do a small spoiler free section that goes to roughly 15 minutes through the episode where we clearly denote where the spoiler free section ends. Then once we are into spoiler territory we discuss the full details of all the tasks that can be completed in the game and a lot of the hidden lore that adds a lot of backstory to your gaming experience as you play through this game.

This game is a short roughly 2 hour experience that leads into Life is Strange 2 which is coming this September. In this episode, Derreck is back to talk more State of Decay 2. Derreck is once again solo and gets into some more news about State of Decay 2. There was a small amount of news on the Daybreak DLC and also a new patch notes 2.1 to discuss. in addition, we are proud to announce that we are now part of the PodcastNH network. After that Derreck gets into our main topic, the upgraded cars in State of Decay 2. Derreck developed a system to statistically rate the cars so this ranking is not based on one person's opinion. Many people came together to get data on these cars and give their opinions to make as great of a determination as we can for what are the best cars in the game.

Derreck goes over all 15 cars and the ratings that were given all the way down to the top 5 cars in the game. Derreck leaves you with his thoughts on what cars you truly need in the game and what cars you can forget about.

We get into Vision's history with the franchise as someone who spent 200 hours in the original game. We also get into what makes the franchise unique and interesting.

Then of course we dive right into State of decay 2 and talk about the new features that will be in this version that weren't in the original. This is just touching the surface of what State of Decay 2 is as a game. In future episodes of the podcast we will go more in depth into the various aspects of this game breaking them down thoroughly. However, this is a great episode if you are brand new to the franchise, don't know much about state of decay 2, or are just looking for a refresher before you jump into the game.
