We teach and try to live by the Bible every week. And while it’s fun and enjoyable, we don’t just do it for fun or for sport. We teach the Bible because it is true, it is the best way for humans to flourish, and it is God’s Word of life to us. The questions are, do you believe it and how do we know the Bible is true?

There might not be monsters in our kids' closets, but there certainly are demons moving about the earth. In this life, you have to turn the lights on and address what seems scary and overwhelming. This is exactly what God’s Word does for us. The Bible is like turning on a light within us, revealing what’s ugly and what needs to change. It also spotlights and brings clarity to our culture as well as the darkness lurking. For us to see clearly and walk uprightly, we have to get our sights on the realities of heaven.

Truthfully, when it comes to the church, it isn’t JUST the pastors or the staff. The church is “owned” by no one. However, it is meant to be loved, grown, and cared for by her people. There are no stock options, the pastors don’t own the buildings, and the staff shouldn’t bear the entire responsibility (emotionally and physically) of the welfare of the church. This is YOUR church too, not just mine.

Our dependence and love for God is not contingent on blessings; it is based on an overwhelming conviction that God is who He says He is. He loves me and His word is TRUE. That His promises are true and everlasting, even when that doesn’t reflect in my circumstance. However, what do you do when you don't get blessed the way you thought you would? The only thing we can do is determine not to fold under the temptation of compromise because there’s a story we’ll tell on the other side.
