Often how bloggers make money is a question lots of people wonder and ask, so I thought in this episode I'd share my experience of how bloggers in general usually make money.
This isn't a sales episode selling you the dream of making millions blogging. But a simple break down of some common ways bloggers make money based on my experience.
I'm aware there are other ways of monetising a blog I won't mention in this episode, but the 5 most common ways bloggers earn money mentioned in this episode should cover most methods bloggers earn their income.

This episode is all about how taking a break from blogging (and the podcast) actually helped my blog. I'll explain why my blog kept growing even whilst I took a break from blogging, and touch on the long term things that can set your blog up to keep growing even if you're not attending to it every day.

Today's episode is going to be a bit different. Essentially, I've come a cropper with the amount of time I've had to do everything I need to with my blog, and I want to put my money where my mouth is and build something that's making decent money. So, I'm taking a break from the podcast to spend this minimal time I have to improve the blog, then I hope to come back and share my learnings with you all and help you get to the next level.
If you want to hear more I explain all in the episode.

Today's episode is going to be a slightly shorter episode based on my experience and something that I had to learn recently that I wanted to share. I'm going to talk about why sometimes you just need to keep it simple and get back to basics with your blogging.
You might be wondering what I mean by this… Well, recently, I've really tried to step up my blog and what I've been doing, by moving to a self hosted site to try and improve the look and function of the blog, starting the podcast to share learnings in a different way and connecting with other bloggers interviewing them, use more learning resources to educate myself for the blog, look into new social media channels for my blog… Etc etc, I could go on...
But you know what I forgot... The Content.
So this episode is about why sometimes you just need to get back to basics and re-focus on the content and your blogs main purpose.

In this episode, I'll be speaking with Daniel Sellers, who I actually met whilst travelling in Fiji. I was very excited to hear that Dan had been blogging about his travels for a while even when I met him, and now it's great to have him on the show to talk about his blogging.
Dan is modest about his travels but he's been to Antarctica and travelled in all 7 continents, and has also walked the Camino which for anyone who doesn't know is a 30day hike across Spain… He also continues to have a passion for blogging and travel, and in the future has bucket list travel dreams such as climbing Kilimanjaro, and sleeping out under the stars in the Sahara Desert.
In this episode me and Dan talk discuss: advice on guest posting and writing for others; blogging while travelling with limited time; taking unique photos; moving from wordpress.com to wordpress.org; having ads on your blog and using google adsense; and different social media channels.

In today's episode, I interview Justin Reed, a gaming blogger blogging on his site twotall4ufool. We discuss YouTube as a medium for blogging, the benefits of attending live events for networking for your blog, starting monetisation on your site, social media channels, and generally all sorts of different topics around starting and growing a blog.
The idea of these interviews is to talk to other bloggers and dig into their unique experiences, getting honest feedback and advice on starting and growing a blog, and generally about all things blogging.

In this episode, I'm going to talk about the importance of being yourself when you blogging, having your own unique voice, and the importance of communicating with people in blogging.
Now first off, by 'personality' I mean being your natural self and blogging in the way that comes most natural to you. Unfortunately it seems that too often these days, people are too afraid to really be their true selves online. We're surrounded by photoshopped madness and follow celebrities or people that have achieved levels of success that make what we're doing seem so insignificant.
Yet, you know what I think REALLY gets people's attention and makes you stand out from the crowd, being yourself! Often when you lie to yourself and others and pretend you're something you're not, it doesn't only get found out but also can get pretty exhausting too...

This episode is going to be around the realities of blogging and questions you should ask yourself if you want to take it seriously and stick at it. I've talked before about why people might quit, but this episode is more directed at people that may be in the middle of blogging or finding out that it isn't quite what they expected.
I want to dispel some of the common thinking around what blogging is and what kind of rewards you can gain from it, and go through some questions and realities of blogging that you really should be thinking about if you want to be serious about it.
This is in the hope that you'll be fully prepared and know for sure it's something that's for you. Because even as a blogger myself, from time to time if things aren't going too well, I'm not achieving the success I thought I would, or I see others surpassing what I've been doing, it can be really easy to get really down about the whole process.

In today's episode I'm going to talk about a topic that is mentioned in blogging, but in my view not really stressed enough, and that's the importance of learning as a blogger.
How much thought and priority do you actually put on learning as a part of your blogging routine? Are you someone that reads or listens to advice but doesn't actually put it action? Or are you someone that keeps making the same mistakes again and again?
In this episode I discuss ways to fit in blogging learning to your lifestyle and different areas of learning such as: learning from experts (pro's in blogging and other niches); learning from other bloggers (your blogging network and forums like reddit); and finally the importance of actually putting your blogging learnings into place.
