Get them both, keep them both

The anxious burden is not ours to bear. It can seem spiritual to be constantly mindful of the issues of life, even with the intent of praying for them - but that’s not what we are to do.

It can be good to remove those who are negatively influencing community groups. But if you consider yourself spiritual; do not give up on them. It’s the mercy of the Gospel.

The New Testament lays out the manner in which we ought to come to God: faith. Without faith, nobody can bring pleasure to God. To come to God out of desperation is often to come to God believing that He will not do what He has said. In other words: unbelief.

We win people to God by appealing to the desires of their flesh, rather than having them crucify the desires of their flesh. Jesus died to make us healthy and at peace; yet that was not the central message of the Gospel.

We keep asking God to do what He’s already done; it’s no wonder we don’t experience the realities of the Gospel in our lives the we way ought to be experiencing them.

But what does that even mean? Is it salvation from hell, or something more?

When people hear Mark 11:24 - anything you pray for, believing you have received it, shall be yours - we usually think of cars, jobs and wives. But what about things like peace? Can we will peace into existence?
