It’s a rare thing to find, and an easy thing to lose. In 10 years I’ve never seen someone my age stay burning on fire for more than a couple of years. Distractions, relationships and disappointments have always got the best of people. Never lose your fire for Jesus.

A clean conscience before God is one of the most central messages in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Yet so many of the things we teach simply sear our conscience before God and make us feel worse in approaching Him than we did before we even heard about Jesus.

We say we’ve tried everything, when in reality we have hardly even taken the first steps to overcoming the problems we face. Temptation, relational issues, financial difficulties, discouragement, disappointment, rejection, betrayal... We are too quick to throw in the towel.

Victim mentality is to be replaced with victory mentality. Violently seize that which the devil has stolen and stand on the truth of the Gospel.

We have reduced the significance of baptism by the way we teach about its absolute necessity. Why did God choose baptism as the only physical action that Christians are to do ONCE in their lives? What is so significant about it? Why do we belittle it by calling it a “public declaration of faith”? Baptism is the most tangible event in the Christian life, upon which we can anchor our very being in faith in what God has said about it, and what it means for us.

Depression is an external force trying to get in, not an internal issue trying to get out. True Christian perspective is key to experiencing the peace for which Christ died (Isaiah 53:5).

Everybody is forgiven. Not everybody is saved. The clear conscience is the reason we preach that we are forgiven. But humanity has always been forgiven... yet humanity has not always been saved. Shakaba

...no, it has nothing to do with “freeing up time that would have been spent cooking.” Why do people even say that?

He didn’t shed it to make us worthy, but because we were worthy. Why do we even say we were worthless, when Scripture makes it clear that He so willingly paid the price?
