ESPN leaks Trevor Bauer’s phone number in a massive screw up. BUT Bauer turns it into a good thing.

ESPN accidentally showed Bauer’s phone number during a broadcast. While Bauer could have turned off his phone immediately, he instead decided to turn the situation into a positive.

Though he called out ESPN for the “massive screw up,” Bauer told his Twitter followers he would give away a pair of signed cleats and an autographed baseball over the next 48 hours. In order to get the rules for Bauer’s giveaway, you had to listen to his voicemail.

One fan called Bauer and posted audio of the voicemail, which runs down the various social media sites Bauer runs, including his Twitter and YouTube pages.

Anyone looking to get in on Bauer’s giveaway now might be out of luck. Calling Bauer’s number leads to an automated message stating “the wireless customer you are calling is not available.”

Dak new contract?
Prescott could earn a little over 69 million over the next 2 years by just signing the Franchise Tag both seasons. Any play who signs the Franchise tag 2 years in a row AUTOMATICALLY would get a 20% increase in pay. He wouldn't NEED to sign a long term deal right now, but should sign something before the July 15th deadline. Current contract rumors are that he was offered a 5 year $175 million deal with just north of $106 million guaranteed.

Joe Flaco- signed a 1 year 1.5 mil deal with Jets with up to 4.5 million in incentives. Interesting to see Flaco going to the Jets. Definitely on his way out of the league. May be his last stop. Jets GM, Joe Douglas, was the reason why Ravens picked him up in 08. Now back together in the Big Apple.
QB’s stated to be at Camp for the Jets.

Possible return July 1st’ish. Owners have agreed on an 82 game schedule with 14 playoff teams and a Universal DH. Also, teams would play in their respective region to minimize travel and exposure ie. NL West V AL West for interleague play.

NBA - Lakers open their practice facilities, NBA Stars are itching to play. While MLB players are not interested in playing?

NBA players have to give some $ back, based on their CBA and time they have missed. Interesting

Matt Harvey eyeing a return to the Halos. Still thinks he can get the job done. Thought he was back with the Mets?

Blake Snell says he is voting NO on restarting the season … Unless he is getting fully compensated. Says he is risking his life by playing ball. Currently he would make 7 mil. According to his "math" he would end up getting paid apx 2.333 Mil for the shortened season. Would later come back and say it sounded like he was being greedy, and was just worried about his health and his life…. Well what about the rest of us that are risking our lives for pennies on the dollar to what he would make on a shortened season?
Bryce harper - Glad Snell said something. Someone needed to have the balls to say something, said Harper.

Cowboys offer Dak 4 Year contract with reported 105 mil guaranteed.
How long will the Cowboys and Dak play this game?
At what point does this hinder the growth of the team.
With Andy Dalton now backing up Dak, do the cowboys let Dak sit out and play the Texas Native?
Fans are getting fed up with the cat and mouse game that Dak is playing with his contract. At some point Jerry Jones and Steven Jones are going to be fed up with it and move on from Dak.
Hypothetical situation - Trade Dak to move up in the Draft and take the star QB that will be up for grabs next season.

NBA - LeBron James media company producing docuseries on Astro’s cheating scandal.

The docuseries tentatively titled “Sign Language” will debut on the streaming service at a later date and will be produced by James’ Uninterrupted sports media company.

“The documentary will transcend the baseball diamond to explore larger themes of greed, cheating, corruption, sportsmanship and social media activism … Sign Language will be the definitive documentary about the scandal that rocked America's pastime."

LeBron James was among the athletes to publicly condemn the Astros for cheating and call out commissioner Rob Manfred for his handling of the situation.

Although there is an interesting dynamic now that Astros’ star Alex Bregman is represented by the same sports agency as James, the Klutch Sports Group.

There’s no word on when the docuseries will be released, but we imagine baseball fans will be waiting with anticipation.

Patriots, still have FIVE prime time games? Even without Brady? Reports are out that they might be trying to tank this season to get a shot a drafting Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence.

NFL - Draft Re-Cap
Pats through 3 picks.. so no QB

How did your team do?
Brent - Cowboys got CeeDee Lamb. Quick slot receiver. 4.5 40 yrd dash. Offense is now STACKED… but the defence is lacking. Still need CB / Safety help. Cowboys addressed the DB position with the 2nd pick with Trevon Diggs.. Stephan diggs younger brother.. Elite Hight, size and strength to matchup with any big wr. Quick DB, could have been a receiver but way better at shutting them down. Neval Galimore DT is the 3rd pick in the draft for the cowboys 6’2” 300 lbs. 4.79 - 40... Quick, strong and mean.. Just what the center of the Defensive line needed.

Artie - Did you watch the 1st round? Good pick for the cowboys.
Rodgers back up in place was interesting.

Dak Prescott brother - Jace Prescott passes away at age 31. Circumstances of his death have not been divulged

Thoughts on The Last Dance documentary?

Any Questions, Comments, or Topics, send them our way at [email protected]
NBA-
Anyone Excited for “The Last Dance” on ESPN Sunday @9. The 10 part documentary starting this weekend. It is an in depth look at the Chicago Bulls, what brought them to the championships, and what problems they ran into including problems with the front office. I think it will be interesting what issues Jerry Kraus, the GM for the Bulls, had with the players.

MLB-
Dodgers Joe Kelly working on his “change-up” during the quarantine, ended up throwing the ball through his window instead of the netting he had set up.
Joe Kelly has a little trouble with his change-up

“Crowd” Goes wild on walk off HR in Extra Innings during what I believe is a Korean League game. In what I can only describe as, interesting, a Korean Ball player hit a game winner to an empty stadium. The club had mannequins in the stands and people cut outs behind the plate. The roar of the crowd was also played in the speakers. Is this where the MLB is headed?

Dodger and Angels stadium parking lots FULL over the last few weeks. Even though there are no events happening in MLB, the stadiums are packed with cars, trucks, and vans. On opening day news choppers swung by the stadiums to see that they were packed with cars, however no one was in the stadium. All the vehicles belonged to the Rental Car industry. The vehicles that would normally be on the road right now had nowhere to go or to be parked. So they rented the space at Chavez Ravine and Angels Stadium.

Trout- When reporters ask Trout if playing in AZ would be feasible, the 3 time MVP let his thoughts be known. He is ready to play as soon as he can. Biggest hurdles on the Leagues “idea” of a season starting soon. Would he have to quarantine before returning to play?

No fans at Professional Games?

a.The nation's top infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, said that pro sports could return this summer if there are no fans in attendance and virus free players stay at hotels.
b.What would the games be like?
c.Do you think this would affect the play?
d.Will fans be as invested in their teams?

NFL-
Draft - What does your team need? What do you think about the top 6 projected picks?
Brent - Cowboys number 22 in the first round- Need a center and a CB or Safety
Tua dropped off Boards due to injury concerns despite being one of the best College QB’s in the draft. Tua has had a few surgeries that are the main reason he is starting to drop in the draft. With Hip surgery, and 2 high ankle sprains which he opted for surgery to help recover faster. He also had a broken index finger that was also repaired. How LOW do you think he will drop? Sources say Miami would be the first who would draft him at 5th, are now looking at Oregon QB Justin Herbert instead of Tua.
Cincinnati - Joe Burrow - QB LSU
Washington - Chase Young - DE Ohio State
Detroit - Trade to Miami or LA Charger? Or do they take a CB or QB?
Tua Tagovailoa - QB Alabama - Dropping fast
Jeff Okuda - CB Ohio State
Justin Hebert - QB Oregon - Gaining traction with Tua dropping.
New York Giants - Isaiah Simmons - LB Clemson or Tristan Wirfs - OT Iowa
Miami - Do they trade up for Tua? Do they try to trade for the #1 pick?
LA Chargers - Do they trade up for Tua? Do they take Heberts? Will they stick with Tyrod Taylor at QB for a few years?
Dak Prescott Party?
Did he throw a party? According to Prescott it was a few people, under 10 that were there. He did release a statement saying - “I understand and accept that there are additional responsibilities and media scrutiny that come with being an NFL quarterback, but it is very frustrating and disappointing when people provide completely inaccurate information from anonymous sources, especially now,” Prescott said in a statement Tuesday issued to ProFootballTalk.com. “To set the record straight, I know that we all need to do our best to socially distance and like everyone else, I am continuing to adjust to what that requires, but the truth is that I was with fewer than 10 people for a home dinner — not a party — on Friday night. Adding "I am very sensitive to the challenges we are all facing and making sure to support the first responders and medical personnel and everyone else putting in long hours,'' Prescott said. "We are all at a time when we need to keep educating ourselves about the importance of health and isolation during this pandemic and I will continue to make sure to do my part by following the guidelines until we are approved to start returning to normal activities.”

Conflicting reports.
Will he get the long term contract he is looking for? I think he will get the long term contract, but not the terms he is looking for.

This Jackie Robinson Day will be unlike any other. April 15 is one of Major League Baseball’s banner days as they celebrate Jackie Robinson Day — the anniversary in which the Hall of Famer broke the league’s color barrier in 1947 with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Annual Tributes include pregame ceremonies along with everyone in the league wearing 42 for that day. Last player who was able to wear 42 before it was officially retired on April 15th 1997, was Mariano Rivera of the New York Yankees. In 2004 Commissioner Bud Selig declared April 15th “Jackie Robinson” Day.

“All Jackie Robinson Day activities will be virtual in nature, centering on social media and online platforms to underscore the importance of staying safe and healthy at home,” MLB released in a statement on Tuesday. “Designed to engage and educate fans about Robinson’s enduring legacy, efforts will incorporate MLB partners, MLB Clubs, Major League players, and youth baseball & softball players.”

Stepping onto the baseball diamond at Ebbets Field 73 years ago Jackie Robinson became the 1st African American Player to participate in a regular season Major League Baseball Game since Moses Fleetworrd Walker of the Toledo Blue Stocking in 1884. After Fleetwood made an appearance the now notorious " gentleman's agreement " black players were barred from the majors.

Robinson played 10 MLB seasons, was a 6 time all star, with Rookie of the Year honors in 1947, and adding a batting championship to his resume in 1949. Along with the batting title in 49, Robinson also won the National League MVP. He helped carry the Brooklyn Dodgers to 6 League Pennants and 1 World Series Title in 1955, 12 years after his first season in the majors.

Each of the 30 teams in the league will have exclusive Jackie Robinson related content on their sites commemorating their connection to Robinson over the years.
MLB Network will have 12 hours of Jackie Robinson related programing. Along with that, The Jackie Robinson Foundation will launch the new "Jackie Robinson Day Virtual Learning Hub" that will provide educational programing for educators and parents for k-12 students at JRLegacy.org.

With Gurley and Cooks out of LA, how long do you think it will take the Rams to bounce back and become a powerhouse again? Is Goff no longer a great QB? Rams Still have Kupp and Woods.

MLB -
Season could start as early as MAY. The League and the Players Union are discussing sending all 30 teams to Arizona to play the start of the season during this Covid Pandemic. They have not settled on this, but this is the front runner on options for the season to start. Games will still be held without fans in the stands. Currently there at 13 Potential Stadiums that the league could use, but to have all 30 teams play on the same day, they would need 2 more stadiums.
What do you think the major drawback is going to be for this plan?
Heat? East Coast teams would have to start no later than 5PM to allow for their “Home FanBase” to be able to enjoy the games. (I say deal with it East Coasters! You have had ENOUGH East Coast Bias over the years, its time for the West Coast to take the lead.)
IF the games started May 15th, that would leave about 115 games to be played out for the rest of the “season”

Juiced Balls- A few weeks ago Artie made a comment on the “juiciness” of the baseballs in the league. I got a text from Gil that there was no way the balls we juiced. I invited him on the show today to talk about that, the process of how the baseball cores are made and how they affect the ball.

This is the week that the baseball- world would have focused on the Astros. With the Angels Home opener being today the usual sell out would have been invaded by the Dodgers fans still upset over the 2017 cheating scandal. Would have proven to be some of the most exciting environments to watch baseball. Joe Madden had already said that he had instructed his pitchers to NOT intentionally throw at the Astros, but I would be remiss to not have seen 1 or 2 guys up in the bullpen through the middle of the game.

The red sox were on the verge of getting its punishment from the league when the entire MLB along with the other major league sports came to an abrupt halt. With Chris Sale being lost to Tommy John surgery, Mookie Betts being traded to the Dodgers, and the loss of TB 12…. Boston was set to have a really shitty year whenever sports do come back.

Dodgers- Justin Turner has proposed a Home Run Derby to end Extra-Innings after the 10th inning. What are your takes on ending a tie game after the 10th inning with a home run derby? Would let people get to bed sooner than watching a game go on for 15 innings. Only about 10% of games throughout the league go into Extra Innings.

Who do you think will be the HR King with a shortened season?
Mike Trout? - 2019 - 45 HR
How/Why will Trout miss additional games this season?
Joey Gallo? - 2019 - 22 HR - in 70 games before getting hurt
Roland Acuna - 2019 - 41 HR
Dark horse pick - Nelson Cruz - 41 HR? Bryce Harper - 35?
NCAA- Senior Eligibility for Spring Sport Athletes

The Ivy League - has decided to NOT allow its spring Athletes the extra year of eligibility for its graduating Seniors even though the NCAA came out last week granted that option for its spring sports athletes. Unfortunately that means the Winter Sports Athletes like Coby Downs and the Norwich Mens Hockey team will not be eligible to have its seniors back next season.
What is your take on the Ivy League not allowing its seniors to return for eligibility? 70+ Ivy League Seniors spring sport athletes entered the transfer portal so that they may be eligible to play elsewhere next year.

Rex Ryan calls Amari Cooper a Turd during an interview. Says he would not have paid him what he got from the cowboys. The draft is starting Thursday April 23d. It will be very interesting to see how they do this with how large of a party the draft has become over the years. The NFL Draft is the ONLY “sporting event” left on the books. Do you think the league will get any blow back from people? I don't think anyone really needs to see players shake roger goodell's hand and holding a jersey on stage. It will be interesting to see what happens after the draft. Will this hurt or help sports?
