Our friend Janai comes back on the podcast to talk about current books, favorite books of the year, romance recommendations, steamy or non-steamy romance books, Taylor Swift theories, and being labeled a "queer dad." As usual, it was chaotic and fun and we love Janai so much! Make sure you listen for Sam's epic commemoration to "The Moment I Knew" by Taylor Swift - she knows every single word because she's a super fan!Â

Ready for queer historical romance? We sure are! What better place to start than with Suzanne's newest book - a story about sisters, war, grief, resiliency, trauma, LOVE, and more. This book was so wonderful, and definitely made Sam cry at least two times on an airplane. We talk about writing historical romance, specifically from a queer lens, what brought Suzanne to this specific historical moment, favorite characters, advice for writers, and her backlist titles!Â

We recorded this episode back at the end of July and it was so much fun to talk about the assumptions our listeners sent in - were they true or not? Let us know if anything particularly surprised you - we feel like our listeners know us really well and were able to assume correctly in almost all instances!

Are you as excited about The Charm Offensive as we are? We are completely in love with this debut novel from Alison Cochrun - and also in love with Alison herself! Alison is funny and dynamic and we had so much fun picking her brain about dating shows, favorite characters, the writing process, queer representation, and so much more!Â

We had so much fun talking to debut author, Margot Wood, of Fresh! Fresh is such a fun book, full of queer-norm characters, sex-positivity, figuring yourself out at 18, fun narrative/visual pieces, inspirations from the classic novel Emma, and laugh-out-loud funny scenes. This book brought us back to our college times and both Sam and Alex kept wishing for a gayer college experience. We talk Emerson, queer representation, writing advice, and more!Â
No spoilers in this episode so feel free to listen whenever - and if you haven't already read Fresh, you will after this episode!Â
