This week Meredith & Matt share a review, talk about the pros & cons of advertising topicality on sensitive subjects (looking at you, Gillette), wonder why we don't see more ads related to female sexual dysfunction, and rant about the proliferation of vests, creepy rape culture, and Lee press-on nails in Alyssa Milano's 1995 flick Embrace of the Vampire. All while dodging cats!

This week Meredith & Matt share a review, give a ton of shout outs, and banter about #MeToo, misogyny in politics, the word 'fortnight', and the difficulty of finding a good petsitter...over cocktails, of course.

This week Meredith & Matt chatted with Nebraska State Senator Megan Hunt! Ms. Hunt bears the distinction of being the first openly LGBTQ person elected to Nebraska's legislature. As if that weren't enough, she's also a progressive atheist with a day job as an e-commerce entrepreneur and a devoted single mother! Yowza!
We chat with Megan about her election, her values, what makes Nebraska so special, the transition from being an activist to being a lawmaker, and get her to provide tips on how to to go about running for elected office in your neck of the woods!

This week Matt & Meredith chat with Emilie Hebert of the popular food blog EmilieEats.com. We discuss the culinary and cultural differences between Emilie's native Louisiana and her current home of Colorado, what got her on the path to studying nutrition and eating a plant-based diet, and how making healthier eating choices is actually easier than you think. Perfect for those of us looking to change our eating habits for the better in the new year! Plus, there's a very sad cat in the background. We're very sorry about that. Oliver, on the other hand, is not.

This week Matt & Meredith fly solo and share a customer review, gab about their holiday weekend, talk briefly about Christmas music that doesn't suck, and share some useful tips to avoid getting hosed when shopping for a car. At some point the topic of a werewolf-car comes up...naturally.

This week Matt & Meredith are joined by a very special guest: singer/songwriter/musician Molly Lewis! Molly writes & records humorous original songs — including her recent single 'Pantsuit Sasquatch', which we share at the end of the episode and is available for download now on iTunes or streaming on Spotify — but also writes, podcasts, and performs live. She's a very talented (and busy) lady!
We discuss Molly's career — how she got started, the trials & tribulations of supporting oneself as a creative professional, life on the show circuit, etc. — as well as our respective takes on the creative process, becoming comfortable (or at least less uncomfortable) with the business side of the creative life, and the creative lifecycle of some our favorite musicians, from The Beatles to Weezer to Nas.

This week Matt & Meredith are joined by a very special guest: actor Paul Adelstein! Not only has Paul been all over your TV screen courtesy of recurring roles on FOX's Prison Break, ABC's Scandal & Private Practice, and Bravo's Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce (among many others!), but he's also a very talented songwriter and musician who has recorded multiple excellent albums with his band Doris. You can currently see Paul play David Sweetzer on NBC's I Feel Bad.
We discuss Paul's career — how he got into acting & music, the path his career has taken since his start in Chicago's theatre scene in the early 90s, wearing different hats behind the camera, and what he loves about music, from writing to playing to performing. Enjoy!

In this week's episode, Matt & Meredith share a review, narrate a truly wackadoo tale from Reddit, talk a bit about how we arrive at shirt color choices for our designs, pine wistfully for feminist street justice, and roast a truly terrible 80s movie we watched last weekend. If you're a big fan of the film 'Liquid Sky', you may want to skip this one. Sorry!

This week on the podcast Meredith and Matt share a customer review and introduce what will — sigh — most likely be a regular segment we'll call the Troll of the Week. We dig into troll-like behavior, discuss what informs it, and how we try to cope with it as business owners with a reluctantly public profile. (Hint: we're not very successful at it.) We also talk a bit about the "holiday blues", how family — as a cultural signifier — is depicted in modern media and advertising, and sip on some cocktails. Enjoy!

This week Matt & Meredith share a positive customer review, only to then go on to complain, Statler & Waldorf style, about internet trolls, humans behaving badly, and overly-complex German board games. It's quite the Airing of Grievances! Come commiserate with us!
