This is the second part of our chat with Ben Curran from The Museum of Drugs in which we discuss further the ideas of drugs, addiction and rehabilitation.
Richard and Maisie chat with Ben Curran from The Museum of Drugs - a registered charity and leading authority on the history of substance use.
Ben, who for many years worked in drug rehabilitation, very kindly shares lots of his knowledge on the history of many different kinds of drugs and discusses why people fall victim to drugs.
Of course it's metaphorical, but what you fill your 'coffee cup' or 'vessel' with can have a dramatic impact on your day to day life.
Will you fill it with positivity or negativity? Do those around you influence the contents of your cup?
We're great believers in always choosing to be kind, even when it might not be the easiest thing to do or be.
But why is being kind important? Choosing to be kind in a situation can be very liberating and up lifting. It also says so much about you and your character!
Richard and Maisie discuss their ideas around choosing to be kind in all types of situations.
In last week's episode we caught up with Headteacher Jamie White and were inspired by his fantastic leadership qualities.
In this episode, Jamie discusses his ideas of 'winning' in any setting and how he encourages the children at his school to be the best version of themselves that they can be.
What's it like to be a Headteacher?
Jamie White is Headteacher of a Primary School in Suffolk. He is passionate, enthusiastic and produces outstanding results with the children and staff at his school.
Richard and Maisie share 'teaching similarities' with Jamie (they're fortunate enough to teach Karate to Jamie's children) and discuss the crossovers between being a teacher in a school and a Martial Arts instructor.
How can we apply principles from teaching (academically and sporting) to our lives?
Let's discuss.
We've probably all been told at some point to 'enjoy the process', but just how easy is that to do? Can we enjoy processes in every day life, even if events are seemingly uneventful?
Let's discuss.
Most of us, throughout our day to day life, will find ourselves on our own. Not to be confused with being 'lonely', being alone is when we are by ourselves with no one else to interact with.
How can being alone affect us? What can we do with the time we have when we are on our own and is it something that we can learn to enjoy?
A 'first responder' is usually someone who is first on the scene at an emergency.
But did you know, that it's possible to be your own 'first responder'?
We can all take the time to prepare ourselves for situations in life although, admittedly, it's impossible to know of every situation that may or may not happen to us. But what we can do, is develop a plan of action for a variety of situations that can help us to remain calm, together and panic free when something happens to us.
