As we see in Isaiah 6, The Gospel is first about Encountering God where we grow to Know God. Then we Believe Him, and what He has done for us. Then, it's only natural our response is obedience. We obey out of a response to God's love for us, not out of white knuckle obligation.

Jesus sends out the 72 with some practical advice on discipleship that we can apply to our lives as well.

In Luke 9, Jesus reminds us that the cost of Discipleship is high, but it is worth it and we are able to walk the tough road because He walked the road before us.

Jesus, "The Greatest Servant", demonstrates for us and His arguing disciples that becoming the greatest is not the goal in life; because He is already the greatest, we don't have to be! He ultimately demonstrates this for us by dying for our sins on the Cross.
