In this episode of Mind Over Motherhood, I sat down with Camille Kinzler to discuss alcohol use in moms. 

Camille Kinzler is a Physician Assistant and Sober Curious Coach who helps grey-area drinkers take a break from alcohol so they can become more intentional about their alcohol intake and create lives that they don't want to numb. 

This conversation is SO important for mothers today as mommy wine culture is not only increasingly prevalent, but can be very damaging as well. Camille and I discussed how to become more intentional about your alcohol use, how to model a healthy relationship with alcohol for your children and all things mommy wine culture.

In this episode of Mind Over Motherhood, I chatted with Tania Moraes-Vaz about owning your story and living an aligned life. 

Tania is a woman of many capes—wife to a wonderful man who  is her rock and love, mom to an intuitive and spirited almost  four-year-old son, a creative maven, and a visionary at heart. Tania graduated with a BA in English Literature and  Creative Writing from the University of Waterloo and found her way back  to this soul-calling through a series of “yes”-ventures in the world of  writing and publishing. Avidly passionate about holistic health and  personal development, she is also a certified Reiki Master (RM) and NLP  coach and a soon-to-be certified holistic nutritionist.

An entrepreneur at heart, Tania knew deep within that she  was not meant for the corporate grind and needed to live a life by  design. Her PCOS diagnosis, and her journey into motherhood almost four years ago catalyzed her first steps into what would become a  multi-faceted business that merged all her passions together—visual art,  writing, events, and mentorship—to help women express themselves.

The Holistic Warrior Life Podcast

In Episode 13 of Mind Over Motherhood, I talked to Betsy Laughter and talked all things new motherhood and the transition to being a mom. 

Betsy is a Life Coach for new moms and has been a social worker for the past 20 years, working specifically new and postpartum mothers. 

There are few experiences in life that have the potential to turn your world inside out like becoming a mother and Betsy knows this first-hand. After experiencing her own transition into motherhood and seeing the experiences of mothers she has worked with as a social worker for over 15 years, Betsy has devoted her energy to educating and supporting women as they transition into motherhood with realistic perspectives and a sense of humour.

We shared honest and relatable stories about our own transitions into motherhood, discussed key strategies for navigating "postpartum shock" and laughed about breastfeeding struggles, birth plans and "staying off the carpet."

In Episode 12 of Mind Over Motherhood, I sat down with Suzanne Carpenter of CarpenterOne80 to talk about how moms can clear up food confusion so they can win at losing weight.

Suzanne and I had such a fun conversation and it was my absolute pleasure getting to know her. Among other things, Suz gave practical tips to help us win at losing weight. We also discussed body image, how women can start to FEEL GOOD NAKED and of the common misconceptions that Suz sees in women struggling with their weight and body image.

On Episode 9 of Mind Over Motherhood, I had the pleasure to sit down with Tiana Fech of The Part Time Jungle. 

Tiana Fech is a married mom of three kiddos (13, 11, and 8) and is currently in the "taxi cab driver" stage of life, with two kids in hockey and one in  gymnastics and piano. 

Tiana has been working in the field of education for 16 years as a classroom science teacher, curriculum developer and early learning coordinator overseeing programs and teams of specialists for young children with developmental delays, and is now a sessional instructor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Calgary.  

Since becoming a mom, Tiana found that part-time work was the best fit  for her and her family. She now helps other moms find the work-motherhood balance that works for them through her platform and podcast, The Part-Time Jungle.
