On some days I hate this place that we almost jokingly call "The United" States of America. United in what? Its determination to not make right its wrongs?

From 1955 until 2023 this nation had endless chances to try to provide a semblance of justice and accountability to the family of Emmett Till, but for 68 straight years, every DA, every prosecutor, every Attorney General, every staff of the DOJ, and every presidential administration that had a chance to do right by this family, REFUSED TO DO SO.

My best guess is that in the years ahead, now that no single living human being that participated in the lynching of Emmett Till is around to be held accountable, the government will eventually tell us what it should have done and offer an empty apology.

The whole ordeal is about the most American thing I think we will ever know.

I'm nothing but glad Tucker Carlson was just fired from Fox News. The man was an open bigot. He was a white supremacist who employed other white supremacists. He's also a liar and a scoundrel. But I want us to pause for a quick moment and squeeze some lessons out of what just went down.

Because here's what I know - Fox News is going to replace one bigot with another bigot. This man wasn't fired for his racism, he was fired because he was costing the corporation a TON of money. Period. They were ALWAYS willing to endure his racism.

But let me unpack and explain what we really need to know about all of this.

Today I want to tell you just a little bit about my own personal journey with weed. I'm a late adopter and didn't start smoking all the way until I was 38 years old when my pain management doctor first prescribed it to help with my pain.
