Have you ever heard a story that made you question the justice system? This week on the Broken System podcast, we put a spotlight on the chilling tale of Temujin Kensu, a man held captive behind bars for three and a half decades for a crime many believe he did not commit. We dissect the dubious investigation that led to his conviction, the shaky evidence, and the suffering of the victim still seeking justice. As we navigate through these murky waters, we aim to shine a light on the flaws in the system that led to this tragic case.
As we dive deeper into Temujin Kensu's life, we encounter a troubling past marked by his mother's physical and emotional abuse, a history that would shape his future in unimaginable ways. His adoption of martial arts and Eastern religious beliefs, his escalating confrontations with his mother, and his ongoing struggle to defend himself paints a vivid picture of the trials he faced. We unravel the questionable tactics of his attorney and challenge the flawed police narrative that led to his wrongful conviction.
Finally, we spin the wheels back to the seminal decade of the 80s to explore its influence on trials like Temujin's. The era was riddled with controversies like recovered memories, satanic panic, and biases against Eastern cultures, all of which left an indelible mark on Temujin's case. This exploration acts as a mirror to our own times, questioning how far we've truly come, and propelling us to strive for a more equitable legal system. Tune in for a hard-hitting examination of a story that exposes the fractures in our justice system and our enduring mission to repair them.

This Weeks Episode we join Jayson Blair from The Silver Linings Handbook to discuss The Broken System Podcast and other things we are looking into.
" In this episode, Jayson is joined by Robert Parmer, the host to The Broken Systems Podcast, a podcast focused on bringing justice to those who deserve it. The people whose cases are derailed for a variety of reasons, whether it's tunnel vision, their socioeconomic backgrounds, their mental health, the neighborhood they live in, internal problems with law enforcement or just plain laziness.
Robert is not a journalist or a lawyer or a politician or a former FBI agent. But the first season of The Broken Systems Podcast has led to a significant impact on bringing attention and putting pressure on law enforcement to solve a case in Georgia that was beset by law enforcement. In fighting in this case in a small northern Georgia County, it would have likely not have been solved without people like Robert.
We're going to talk about that case and more and how to fix the system."

Have you ever wondered the terrifying and disheartening reality that families face when a loved one vanishes without a trace? How helpless they feel when their frantic search for answers meets bureaucratic hurdles and systemic failings? Brace yourselves for an intriguing deep-dive into the baffling case of Braedan Christopher Rose, a 26-year-old whose mysterious disappearance and subsequent tragic end points to the gaping holes in our system when it comes to missing adults.
This episode stitches together the highly distressing ordeal of Braedan's family as they relentlessly pursued leads, waded through the convoluted process of filing a missing person's report, and even leveraged the power of social media in their quest for answers. We unveil the inexplicable events leading to Braedan's car being discovered in a tow yard, towed on the very day he vanished. Furthermore, we unravel the complexity of missing person cases straddling different states, exposing systemic inadequacies that amplify the despair of those left behind.
As we venture deeper, we scrutinize the formal investigation into Braedan's enigmatic disappearance by North Carolina authorities. Despite the family's arduous efforts and the discovery of his car, the search warrant shockingly yielded no evidence of foul play. We dissect the autopsy report, raising pertinent questions over the investigation conduct, especially in light of Braedan's known battle with drug addiction and

What if a tragic death was not a suicide, but a murder? That's the haunting question Amanda Ficky has been asking for seven long years as she tirelessly seeks justice for her brother, Donald DJ Ficky. Join us on this episode of the Broken System Podcast as we discuss Amanda's relentless journey. Listen as we dissect the mysterious circumstances of DJ's tragic death and the shocking release of the accused killer on bond. We delve into the broken justice system and how this infuriating case has left a devastating impact on DJ's family.
This episode features our guests Alison and Brett, as we joined them on an episode of their podcast the Prosecutors Legal Briefs. We'll talk extensively about the seven-year struggle to get DJ's case acknowledged as murder, not suicide. The battle was hard but Amanda, together with private investigator Eric Eckles, was able to present DJ's case to a grand jury, eventually resulting in an indictment. But this isn't just about DJ's case; it exposes the cracks in our justice system and sparks a debate about reform, something we will discuss, together with the implications of a gag order placed on the podcast.
In this gripping journey for justice, we navigate the legal complexities and analyze the controversial evidence surrounding DJ's case. From the implications of a jury trial to the potential consequences for those who initially ruled DJ's death a suicide, we're pulling back the curtain on a case that has lef

Season One, Episode Four, Five and Six. Today's episode is titled "Interviews."
In this episode, we will delve into the intriguing interviews conducted between the detectives and our person of interest, Mark. Together, we will analyze and break down these conversations, uncovering inconsistencies that shed light on the ever-changing narrative.
By examining the thought processes of the detectives and Mark, we aim to reveal the numerous occasions where confusion arises. The detectives find themselves confused by the statements made, repeatedly seeking clarification and asking probing questions. They question why certain details were concealed during the initial interview and why the truth seemed elusive as the story evolved.
Throughout this episode, we will present you with the actual interviews, allowing you to hear Mark's words firsthand. This audio evidence goes beyond the police reports and 911 calls we explored in previous episodes. Our intention is to emphasize the inconsistencies that have emerged in this case and highlight the problems that plagued it from the very beginning.
Despite these glaring discrepancies and the challenges faced early on, it continues to baffle me that Mark remains free from incarceration. How is it possible that no charges have been filed against him? This fact truly astonishes me. I find myself questioning why justice has not been served.
Rest assured, we will continue to raise our voices u
