In this episode of The Bubbles Effect Podcast, Iām sitting down with Kate Hendrickson, and this one feels like the ultimate catch-up moment because we actually went to high school together (weāll just⦠not do the math on how long ago that was š).
Kateās career has taken her through so many different lanes, from TV and film to hospitality, corporate consulting, entrepreneurship, and now writing her own books, and we talk all about what it looks like to evolve, pivot, and trust yourself along the way.
This convo really feels like sitting down over a glass of champagne and just talking life, business, and everything in between (because we did š„). We chat burnout, entrepreneurship, leadership, and those moments where you realize⦠okay, something needs to change.
Kate also shares how she left a decade-long consulting career, started her own business, and followed that creative pull to finally write and publish her first book (which is such a fun, feel-good story youāll want to grab). ā¤ļø
And of course, we mix in all the fun stuff too, brunch, favorite drinks, comfort shows, social media as moms, and travel dreams.
In this episode, we chat about:
It was so fun to have a conversation with an old friend! Easy, real, and full of those little moments that make you think.

What if your biggest advantage in business right now isnāt "better marketing" ⦠but a clearer, more authentic personal brand?
In this Wednesday Power Hour, Iām joined by Nat Schooler, founder of Monday Influencer and former IBM Futurist, whose career journey spans everything from working in a family wine business to building authority in tech, branding, and AI. š·š¤
This conversation really centers around one key idea: in a world where AI can create almost anything, being real and clearly understood is more valuable than ever.
We talk about why personal brands often outperform business brands, how to actually stand out in a crowded space, and why so many entrepreneurs overcomplicate their messaging without even realizing it. š¤
Nat shares simple, practical ways to start building your brand today, along with insights on credibility, consistency, and how to take control of your online presence instead of letting it happen by default.
We also dive into:
⢠Why simple messaging is one of the most powerful tools you have
⢠The three things every strong personal brand needs: clarity, differentiation, and credibility
⢠How authenticity is becoming a competitive advantage in an AI-driven world
⢠Why you already have a personal brand (whether youāve built it intentionally or not)
⢠How to move through imposter syndrome and start showing up with confidence
If youāve been overthinking your brand, second-guessing how to show up, or feeling like youāre blending in⦠this is a really helpful reset.
Grab your coffee and join us for this real, practical conversation.

Hey y'all, itās Monday, March 16th, and you don't want to miss today's short episode!
I dive into one of the biggest shifts happening in marketing right now: entity-based SEO. If youāve been hearing that phrase pop up lately, youāre not alone. I shared an article about it in Saturdayās newsletter (which, by the way, goes out bi-weekly if you want in), and it ended up being the most clicked link so clearly this is something we all need to be paying attention to.
Hereās the simple version: SEO is no longer about just using the right keywords, itās about being understood.
Search engines and AI are now asking:
Who are you?
What do you do?
And how do you connect to everything else online?
I chat about how Google is essentially building a āmap of the worldā through entities (think: people, brands, ideas), why keywords still matter (but arenāt the whole strategy anymore), and how the future of SEO is really about topic authority, depth, and connection.
If your content still feels like a collection of random posts⦠this episode is your sign to shift into building a true content ecosystem.
Because the businesses that are going to win?
Theyāre not the ones using the ārightā words.
Theyāre the ones that become known for something.
Then we shift into a little Monday mindset moment, because, real life.
Iām sharing a very real behind-the-scenes of recording this episode⦠multiple times⦠with my microphone off š and how that kind of perfectly reflects the season Iāve been in lately.
Transitions. Friction. Things not going as planned.
And just a reminder that not every week is going to be perfectly dialed in, but that doesnāt mean youāre completely off track either!
Sometimes it just means youāre in a different season. Or in between seasons.
So this is your reminder to give yourself a little grace, take a breath and remember how strong you are ā¤ļø
As always, if you need someone to talk it out with, marketing or mindset, Iām here!
And Iāve got two really good episodes coming out this Wednesday and Friday, so stay tuned for those.
Thanks for being here, have a great week and Iāll talk to you soon š„

What happens when a recovering attorney becomes a tech founderā¦and builds a business around celebration? š„
In this Friday Bubbly Convo, Iām joined by Jessica Lerner Halperin, founder of Swankey, a party-planning app designed to bring more ease, joy, and calm back to lifeās celebrations.
Jessica shares her journey from a lifelong legal career into entrepreneurship after navigating deep grief, the loss of her mother, the pandemic, and a major life pivot she never saw coming. What started as a frustration with how chaotic party planning had become turned into a bigger mission: helping people celebrate the small things, the big things, and everything in between. ā¤ļø
We talk about resilience, building a business later in life, stepping outside your comfort zone, why founders today have to show up online, and how social media and marketing have changed so much in just the last few years. We also get into the emotional side of celebration, why perfection is overrated, and how people remember how you made them feel far more than the napkin color.
Jessica is thoughtful, funny, wildly smart, and yes⦠she also gave us some unexpectedly helpful āparty therapistā legal wisdom along the way.
In this episode, we cover:
Jessicaās pivot from corporate attorney to tech founder
How grief and the pandemic reshaped her path
The story behind Swankey and why she built it
What founders need to know about marketing today
Why people want to connect with the face behind the brand
How to celebrate meaningfully without the pressure of perfection
A few smart things to keep in mind when working with vendors
This one is for the entrepreneurs, the hosts, the pivots-in-progress, and anyone who could use a reminder to celebrate life while weāre living it.

What if the real edge in business, leadership, and life isnāt moving faster⦠but slowing down?
In this conversation, Iām joined by Morgan Rich, coach and author of The Invitation Beyond: Reclaiming Healthy Masculinity. Morganās work focuses on helping people reconnect with what they already know to be true, by stepping out of the noise, building daily practices, and learning how to navigate uncertainty with presence and clarity.
We talk about what he calls ātraining for the unknown,ā and why learning to be present in everyday moments can become one of the most powerful tools for entrepreneurs, leaders, and anyone trying to navigate a busy, complicated world.
Morgan shares how small daily practices, even just five minutes of quiet reflection or breathwork, can help us regulate our nervous systems, make clearer decisions, and reconnect with the person we actually want to be.
We also dive into:
⢠Why awareness is the first step to meaningful change
⢠How simple practices can build resilience in uncertain moments
⢠The surprising connection between slowing down and better leadership
⢠Why modern culture makes presence harder, and more important, than ever
⢠Practical ways to start reconnecting with yourself today
If youāve ever felt overwhelmed, stretched thin, or like youāre constantly moving but not always aligned with what matters most⦠this conversation is a powerful reminder that clarity often comes when we pause long enough to listen.

In this quick Monday episode of The Bubbles Effect Podcast, Iām sharing a little marketing update and one mindset reminder that stuck with me this week.
On the marketing side, thereās been a lot of chatter in the AI world over the past few days. Apparently more than a million users left ChatGPT over the weekend after news that OpenAI will allow the U.S. Department of Defense to deploy its AI models within classified networks. That sparked a pretty big reaction online, with a lot of people exploring other tools like Claude and a few others.
Since I talk about AI quite a bit, and even built my custom GPT, Stella, inside ChatGPT, I think it's interesting to watch how quickly things can shift in the tech world. I share a little about the differences Iāve noticed between ChatGPT and Claude, especially when it comes to things like messaging, content ideas, and brand voice.
Then on the mindset side, I share something that really stuck with me during my run this morning while listening to the classic book As a Man Thinketh by James Allen. Itās a really short read from 1903, but the message is timeless. āØ
One line in particular stood out to me: āThe world is your kaleidoscope.ā
Itās a reminder that while the world can feel pretty chaotic sometimes, the perspective we choose to take still matters. Our thoughts shape our emotions, our habits, and ultimately the direction of our lives.
So this episode is just a quick check-in to start the week with some marketing news, a little mindset, and a reminder that even small perspective shifts can make a big difference.
And quick note: the Bubbles Effect Newsletter will now be going out every other Saturday instead of weekly. If you want to join, you can sign up at nb.marketing/resources
Thanks for listening, and I hope you have a great week!
What if the fastest path to financial freedom isnāt launching something new⦠but buying something that already works? š¤
In this weekās Power Hour, Iām joined by Tim Delaney, entrepreneur, real estate investor, and host of Business Buying for Financial Independence, to talk about the real power behind business acquisition.
More than a decade ago, Tim bought a small local business with almost no experience and very little cash down. That one move changed everything. š·
And hereās what we unpack in this short, high-impact conversation:
ā” Why āI donāt have enough moneyā is usually a myth
ā” How SBA loans and seller financing actually make deals possible
ā” The massive opportunity created by retiring business owners
ā” Why you should never go in and overhaul a successful business on Day One
ā” How Tim used early YouTube videos inspired by Gary Vaynerchuk to grow his wine & liquor store
ā” And why engaging on social media might matter more than constantly posting
We also talk brick-and-mortar vs. franchises, evergreen YouTube strategy, and the confidence hurdle that keeps most people from ever making the leap.
If youāve ever thought about:
Owning a business
Creating financial independence
Or stepping into something already profitable instead of building from zero
This Power Hour will expand what feels possible.
Because sometimes the boldest move isnāt starting from scratch.
Itās stepping into momentum. š„

Happy Friday, y'all! Which means, it's time for a classic bubbly conversation š„This week I sit down with rhythm-loving speaker and music therapist Casey Muse to talk about something we donāt discuss nearly enough as entrepreneurs: regulation, resilience, and the power of rhythm. š¶
Casey believes the brain listens better when the hands are moving, and once you hear him explain it, youāll never think about leadership, trauma, or discipline the same way again. š«¶
We dive into:
How rhythm and neuroscience work together to regulate the nervous system
Why trauma isnāt just a āred flag,ā but information your body is holding
The connection between memory, emotional response, and leadership
What resilience actually looks like when momentum disappears
Why discipline, not motivation, is the real key to long-term success
And the quiet truth behind āyouāre just not good enough yetā (in the best way)
Casey shares his journey from drumming on pots and pans at age two to building a music therapy practice, mentoring young men through his programs, and speaking nationally about rhythm, regulation, and resilience. š„We also talk entrepreneurship, storytelling as marketing, weekly cigar rituals, Dutch Bros coffee, and flip the script at the end so he interviews me back (which was way more fun than I expected!).
This one is deep, honest, a little nerdy (in the best neuroscience way), and packed with perspective for any business owner whoās ever felt overwhelmed, burned out, or like their momentum disappeared.
If youāve been pushing nonstop without pausing to regulate your own nervous system⦠this conversation might be your reminder. ā¤ļø

What if building a successful law firm (or small business) didnāt require sacrificing your life, your health⦠or your flip flops? š©“
In this power hour episode, I sit down with Jordan Ostroff, law firm owner, CEO mentor, and founder of Lawyer With a Life , to talk about what it really takes to design a business that supports your life instead of consuming it.
Jordan went from working 70+ hours a week, drowning in debt, and feeling completely burned out⦠to rebuilding his firm from the ground up after cutting $140,000 in bad marketing. Today, he works just 24 hours a week, by choice, and teaches other law firm owners how to do the same.
And one thing he makes very clear?
Working yourself into the ground is not a badge of honor. Itās not āriskā to change. The real risk is staying stuck. šÆ
We dive into:
Why āburn it down and rebuildā isnāt as risky as you think
The mental health crisis in the legal profession (and why it matters)
How multi-impact events (think golf + networking + fun) generate more business than Google Ads
Why you should live off your calendar, not your inbox
The delegation mindset shift most entrepreneurs get wrong
How to use AI to prepare for better delegation
And why even Andy Warhol built a factory instead of doing everything himself šØ
Jordan also shares practical steps you can take today:
āļø Delegate one thingāļø Add one multi-impact event to your calendarāļø Start designing your ideal month , not just surviving your current one
This episode is about designing a better life so you can build a better business and proving to yourself that youāre capable of more than you think. ā¤ļø
If youāve ever felt buried in your own success⦠this oneās for you.

And as always, if something resonates, donāt just nod along, take one action in the next 30 minutes!
Because just like bubbles⦠we rise to the top š„
It's Friday which means it's a classic bubbly convo š„
This week I sip and chat with Krystal Jugarap, brand visibility strategist and founder of EM/POWEREDbyWMN, a national community uplifting women entrepreneurs through connection, collaboration, and sustainable visibility. š£
We dive into Krystalās journey from creative side projects and product launches to building a thriving, hybrid community that supports hundreds of women across the country. We talk about what sustainable visibility really looks like (spoiler: itās not being everywhere all the time), why community beats hustle every time, and how showing up consistently, even when it feels uncomfortable, can completely change the trajectory of your business.
Krystal also opens up about motherhood, entrepreneurship, leaving the 9ā5, and why she believes work-life ābalanceā is really more of a dance. š
Plus, we get into events, systems, AI tools she loves, and how empowered women supporting other women creates momentum that no algorithm can replicate.
Grab your drink, get comfy, and tune in for an honest, inspiring conversation about building visibility, confidence, and community, without burning yourself out. š„
