  • TBGS12: Books That Made You Love Reading, A Music Review, & A Big Announcement!
What was the book (or books) that made you fall in love with reading? I asked this online today and it turned into a very fun discussion. My friends shared their beloved and favorite books with me and now I'm sharing their choices with all of you. A lot of great books were mentioned here and I bet you'll find one or two (or more) that you loved too.
Next up, I give my review of Good Times! It's the brand new album from The Monkees, the legendary band which is celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. How does this new album compare to their classic music from the 1960's? I'll let you know you what I think.
Lastly...a very big announcement about Gott Publishing, the new company that my wife Lisa and I have formed. Something just happened that we're both very happy about and I tell you about it here.
Thank you for reading this and for listening to the show. I hope you have a wonderful day!

  • TBGS11: Captain America, Books, A Big Phone, Meditation, & More
Who's an agent of Hydra? Me or Captain America? Well, it's not me and I'm not happy about it. Not that I'd want to be one, but I talk here about my thoughts on this big change for Captain America.
Hey, do you like books? So do I. What a wonderful thing to have in common, huh? I talk about Keller's Fedora, which is by Lawrence Block and is about a hit man. I also discuss Kissing Frogs, a romantic comedy by Rich Amooi.
How about the other smart and fun things I mentioned in the title?
Well, I talk about some neat and cool advances in technology like the awesome new phone that my beautiful and awesome wife just got. I also mention my favorite group ever - The Monkees.
I then talk about a new feature on my website and the newest form of meditation that I've been practicing and enjoying quite a bit.
Thank you for reading this and for listening to the show. Have a wonderful day!

  • TBGS10: Reboots, Remakes, & Rebirths
Hi there! Do you like reboots and remakes of movies and television shows? I bet there are some that you love and some that you hate. Prior to the recording of this episode, I went online and asked people there the same thing that I just asked you.
You can see where I'm going with this, right? Of course you can. You're not only beautiful, but you're also awesome and intelligent.
So, yes, I talk here about remakes and reboots that myself and others (perhaps even you) either like or dislike. I also discuss upcoming remakes/reboots such as Ghostbusters, Star Trek, and MacGyver.
Then the show takes a bit of a more serious turn...
I've been on a journey lately in which I've been trying to let go of many things that have troubled me in my past so that I can appreciate the present more. I talk about some of the struggles I've had and how I'm moving forward with them. I also mention how a book called Broken Open by Elizabeth Lesser has been helpful to me on this journey of mine.
Thank you for reading and for listening. I hope that your personal journey includes as many smiles and good feelings as possible.
    All the best...
    Buddy

  • TBGS 9: The Sad Cowboy, Radiohead Vs. The Monkees, The Walking Dead, & More
This one starts out with a very special guest star...The Sad Cowboy!
Then it's time for a battle of the bands as Buddy compares new songs from Radiohead and The Monkees.
Who will win this epic battle? Hmmm...
Next up, Buddy talks about how he challenged himself by attempting to take a break from social media.
Was he able to do it? Hmmm...
Do you watch The Walking Dead? Buddy and his wife Lisa never saw it until just this week.
Did they like it? Did they hate it? Did they turn it off and watch Fuller House instead? Hmmm...
Things then wrap up with Buddy talking about a new feature on his website called Being Buddy.
Will me, the writer of this, type "hmmm" again?
    Hmmm...

  • TBGS 8: Gott Publishing, My Struggles with ADHD, & More
I talk first about how the recently announced closing of Booktrope has affected many writers, including my wife Lisa, who is/was with Booktrope.
While the closing of Booktrope is a horrible thing in many ways, I discuss how it has led to the creation of Gott Publishing.
Then I share something very personal: my recent discovery that I have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD.) It's been quite an eye-opener to me about so many different problems I've had throughout my life. I talk about what I've learned and how I'm now moving forward with all of this.
I also talk about a great podcast for writers from author Mikey Campling, some upcoming plans for my website, the awesomeness of breakfasts at odd times, and the success my wife and I have had recently with our exercise goals.
Thank you for reading this and for listening to the show. Have a wonderful day!
NOTE: The book I mentioned in the show is The Mindfulness Prescription for Adult ADHD by Lidia Zylowska, MD.

  • TBGS 7: Superheroes, Super Freeman, Super Monkees, & Super More
Things start off with Buddy giving a moving performance of one of the biggest hit songs of 2016.
When your ears recover from that...it's then time to celebrate National Superhero Day by talking about Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, and more.
He also talks about two other TV favorites of his: Veep and Jessica Jones.
You like Morgan Freeman, right? Well, so does Buddy and he gives his thoughts about Morgan's new TV show, The Story of God.
Next up...books! Buddy talks about The Collectors by Sean Platt & David Wright and The Heist by Janet Evanovich & Lee Goldberg.
Then Buddy talks about "She Makes Me Smile," the brand new song from The Monkees.
Do you like to read or see things online that inspire or motivate you? You do? That's AWESOME! It's something you and Buddy have in common. He shares some things that may inspire you, motivate you, and hopefully make you smile.  :-)
Thank you for your time. I hope you enjoy the show. Have a wonderful day!

  • TBGS 6: Nine Inch Buddy, One-Armed Poetry, Music, & More!
In this heart-warming, assuaging, and cuddle-inducing episode, Buddy starts things off with a performance of a classic song from Nine Inch Nails.
He then briefly talks about Prince before sharing one of his favorite poems from one of his favorite one-armed poets.
Buddy then unsuccessfully attempts to not share his thoughts about Axl Rose joining AC/DC.
Then there's some talk about Genesis and Phil Collins and something cool that Phil has recently been doing.
Then, in a moment that may make your heart melt, BG (that's Buddy Gott) wishes one of YOU a very special Happy Birthday.
Almost lastly, but almost not leastly, Buddy talks about a cool new podcast from writer Patrick Stemp and about the brand new album from classic rockers Cheap Trick.
He also talks about his new Runnin' Bud.
Really lastly, and really not leastly, Buddy ends things with pointy birds.
See ya. Have a great day!

  • TBGS 5: Learning, Smelling, Spoiling, & Jamming with Buddy!
In this heartwarming (and slightly disturbing) new episode, Buddy Gott presents a groovy new segment of the show called Word of The Day, in which you can learn complex new math puzzles to amaze your friends with!
Just kidding, of course. It's, uh, about words.
Hey, do you have a sense of smell? You do, huh? Do you like to use it and smell things from time to time? So does Buddy. Come and hear him smell something!
Also, there's some talk about spoiling and being a spoil sport, some thoughts on sharing your politics with others, and Buddy's final review of Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse-Five.
    "That's not enough!!!"
That's not enough, you say? Well, here's some more...
Buddy also recommends two awesome podcasts for your listening enjoyment and education: one starring Johnny B. Truant, Sean Platt, and David Wright and another starring Kevin Tumlinson.
"But will Buddy rock us??? Will he rock our little hearts out?"
He sure will, dear reader. Buddy closes out the show with his performance of a classic rock and roll song.
Rock on and have a great day!
