In Episode 9, I share how I started in my two businesses – 10 years apart and why I couldn’t wait to get back to being an entrepreneur! I discuss when my first entrepreneurial bug caught me in 2009 and how I had to return back to corporate life when “life happens.” I later share how I was able to recently return back to being an entrepreneur, shortly after an amazing contract position with a large firm which allowed me to save, plan and start my business on the right foot.

In Episode 8, I talk to marketing & branding expert and serial entrepreneur Art Fyvolent who started his entrepreneurship journey at the age of 6! With over 35 years of marketing and branding experience, I knew that Art would have a wealth of advice to share. Along with sharing how he got started in business, he’ll also discuss his most recent and unexpected role with Morgan Hill Partners and his passion for animal rescues. As an avid dog lover, he routinely fosters dogs.

In Episode 7, I share my experience of the thrill of being called out-of-the-blue by a prospect who is overloaded, time-strapped and looking for my help. It's a promising opportunity for my business but slowly begins to tilt sideways and fades to silence during negotiations.

In Episode 6, I share a recent customer service experience that soured my interest in an event that I wanted to attend. The customer experience was memorable, but not in a good way. Unfortunately, the event organizer left me with a change of heart and no desire to participate even though it would have been AMAZING! Or maybe it’s in my head… People will remember how you made them feel (excerpt from Maya Angelou’s poem).

In Episode 5, I share ways that I’ve cut out expenses to help focus on my business goals. Those small purchases add up and making smart moves to operate your business lean. Be honest with yourself and cut out those unnecessary expenses – they must go for your business to thrive. Take action to protect yourself and your business, improve your spending habits and become more mindful of how you’re spending your money.

To make the most out of networking events, there are several suggestions to make that time worthwhile in advance of the event, tips during the event and then how to best follow up after the event.

I share advice on tightening up in your business. Some of the topics mentioned are how to network strategically, not everyone who has come along on your journey so far will go with you, expanding your world to meet new people and new experiences, staying the course with your goals and not getting distracted by people, things and activities that blur your path.

In this episode, I discuss my experience as an employee for a large firm that recently ended and lead me to my decision to move back into launching my 2nd business.
