What type of franchises are easiest to get approved with SBA 7a Financing?

My wife and I want to purchase a business and we haven't had any luck finding any existing businesses to purchase, so we started looking at franchises.

We'd like to finance this. What are some things we should look for in a franchise which may make it easier to get financing in the form of an SBA 7a loan?

I am looking to buy a warehouse for my remediation company. My understanding is that I can only finance the real estate with the SBA 504. I also want to purchase more inventory, hire some more employees, and get some working capital.

I have been in business for 6 years and should have sufficient cash flow & income. Walk me through your recommendations.

Hey Beau,

I watched a previous episode “Financing a Planet Fitness Franchise Using SBA 7a Financing”. I am currently contemplating starting a fitness concept. I am evaluating my buying power first. What intrigued me with your past show was that we can potentially get high-leverage financing. I believe my old 401k would qualify for a rollover for my down payment. Essentially, I am not getting much of a return with the 401k and I’d like to roll that into a potentially good cash flowing business. It makes a lot of sense to me!

Please walk me through your thought process on this and what I might want to start looking into. My 401k has about $350k in it and I also have $150k liquid. I am retiring from my career in law enforcement in about 3 years and have the time and bandwidth to get this going now.

I am just about to write up an offer to purchase a campground. What are the best financing options? The campground is located in Northern California. It has 135 campsites, a general store, a laundry facility, and 28 RV hookups. Cashflow appears to be very strong. Seller is relocating out of the country and would probably consider carrying a small note. Purchase price should be $2,495,000.

My local bank is dragging their feet getting me answers on an SBA loan. I am trying to get financing approved to purchase a dog boarding franchise concept. Maybe, I need to find a better lender? Beau, I am selling a rental property and have identified a mixed-use property to purchase. The property has 16 residential units and 4 commercial spaces. All but 1 unit are leased. Acquisition price is $3,135,000 and I have about 850k coming from my 1031 exchange. I have received one quote from a local bank and they offered 6.75% on a 5 year fixed amortized over 20 years. I want to try and find a lender for a 30-year amortization. How would you go about sourcing the best options here?
