The Context of White Supremacy hosts The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly Compensatory Call-In. We encourage non-white listeners to dial in with their codified concepts, new terms, observations, research findings, workplace problems or triumphs, and/or suggestions on how best to Replace White Supremacy With Justice ASAP. This weekly broadcast examines current events from across the globe to learn what's happening in all areas of people activity. We cultivate Counter-Racist Media Literacy by scrutinizing journalists' word choices and using logic to deconstruct what is reported as "news." We’ll use these sessions to hone our use of terms as tools to reveal truth, neutralize Racists/White people. #ANTIBLACKNESS The American Academy of Pediatrics updated guidelines to address the pestilence of obesity in the U.S. According to their report, approximately 20% of children in the U.S. are impacted by obesity, and the AAP recommends "early and intensive interventions" to reverse unhealthy childhood trends. Racism is explicitly listed in the report as a major contributor to obesity and unhealthy eating. In addition to poor diet, non-white people are also disqualified for mental health. In California, Keenan Anderson was tasered and killed by enforcement officials. Mr. Anderson was a black male educator and reportedly experiencing a mental health crisis when his life was terminated. This same week, NPR examined why black males don't utilize mental health services. (perhaps we're too busy slobbering over and raping White Women?) And mysterious, deliberate attacks on electrical grids continue throughout the land. Thousands have been stuck with no heat in the "dead" of winter.
