The Camaro is coming to South Korea. During a presentation event held at the AMG Speedway, located in the city of Yongin – about 25 miles from Seoul, the automaker announced that it began accepting advance orders for the updated model.

When will the mid-engine C8 Corvette show up? Likely summer of 2019, according to our sources close to the matter. Our friends at GMAuthoritycom can confirm a major auto show will not star the debut of the highly anticipated sports car. Instead, look for the mid-engine Corvette to have its own standalone reveal.

Camaro Chief Assumes New Role at GM

Last week the shocking news came out that Camaro Chief and friend Al Oppenheiser was leaving the Camaro program to lead the Electric Vehicles Program. At first, we were quite shocked, but the more we thought about it, the more it makes perfect sense. We discuss this as well as read Al’s statement on leaving the Camaro program. Al, we wish you the best of luck. We know what your going to do will be “shocking” for sure. MFAO.

Right Hand Drive Camaro is Here

HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) released a video this week that shows the remanufacturing process of the Chevrolet Camaro to a RHD (Right Hand Drive Car). It looks like a very intense project and we discuss it.

Horsepower wars winner is declared. We have been talking about this video series. They take a 2017 Ford Mustang and a 2017 Camaro SS and battle it out. They dyno’d the pair first to get a baseline, then added $5,000 worth of parts to each car and turned them loose on the drag strip, road course, dyno, and even tested the braking.

Horsepower wars will return for another season as well – bigger and better this time!

The 2020 Silverado HD was released this week. Some of the media is having fun with how “HUGE” this thing looks. Of course, the Photoshops come in almost immediately to “fix” the front face of the new truck.

Real Talk About GM

We break down the news that came out of General Motors this week regarding certain factories and cars.

Statement from General Motors – GM is committed to maintaining a strong manufacturing presence in the U.S., as evidenced by our more than $22 billion investments in U.S. operations since 2009. Yesterday’s announcements support our ability to invest for future growth and position the company for long-term success and maintain and grow American jobs. Many of the U.S. workers impacted by these actions will have the opportunity to shift to other GM plants where we will need more employees to support growth in trucks, crossovers and SUVs. GM’s transformation also includes adding technical and engineering jobs to support the future of mobility, such as new jobs in electrification and autonomous vehicles.

We appreciate the actions this administration has taken on behalf of industry to improve the overall competitiveness of U.S. manufacturing.

Camaro After SEMA

2019 Camaro first drive. Now that the SEMA Show is over, Chevrolet invited certain media out to southern California to talk about and drive the new 2019 Camaro SS.

General Motors is allegedly extending the end-of-year shut down at their Lansing Grand River Assembly plant where the Camaro and some Cadillac cars are made. http://wmmq.com/gm-lansing-grand-river-plant-shutdown-layoffs/

Sema Show 2018

Sema Show 2018 is now officially in the books! We were at the show to bring you all the latest news. This week’s podcast will be all Sema Show related, so we will be holding any voicemail we received this week for next week.

Chevrolet showed a new Shock yellow exterior color for the 2019 Camaro. It will be available in early 2019. It also features concept front-end styling that includes a relocated bowtie emblem and concept hood/fender graphics. It is joined in the Chevrolet SEMA display by a personalized Camaro LT convertible, shown in new Satin Steel Grey Metallic and featuring concept red accents and additional accessories.

2019 COPO Camaro – An anniversary-themed 2019 COPO Camaro race car introduced today at the SEMA Show celebrates the 50-year milestone of the special order, ultimate performance models and launches the 2019 COPO Camaro program.

“Chevrolet is proud to celebrate 50 years of the COPO Camaro legacy,” said Jim Campbell, GM U.S. vice president of Performance Vehicles and Motorsports. “It’s one of the most enduring legacies in drag racing, with a powerful past and fast future.”

Featuring a special Anniversary Blue Metallic exterior color that pays homage to the original Laguna Blue offered in 1969, the SEMA show car previews the special color and graphics of the COPO Camaro 50th Anniversary Special Edition package offered for 2019. A 50th Anniversary Engine Appearance Package that emulates the look of vintage Chevy performance engines, with an orange engine block, chrome valve covers and a black high-rise intake manifold, is also available for the naturally aspirated LSX-based 427 racing engine.

The 2019 COPO Camaro’s available engine lineup includes a revised version of the supercharged, LSX-based 350 engine, now featuring a 2.65L Magnuson supercharger as well as a 302-cubic-inch engine. The COPO Camaro also features a distinctive and exclusive front-end design not shared with other production Camaro models.

Only 69 2019 COPO Camaro race cars will be built — the same number of 1969 COPO Camaro models built with the all-aluminum 427 ZL1 engine.

ECOPO Camaro Concept Race Car – Fifty years after the original COPO Camaro special order performance models were introduced, Chevrolet’s eCOPO Camaro Concept demonstrates an electrified vision for drag racing.

Developed by General Motors and built in partnership with the pioneering electric drag racing team Hancock and Lane Racing, the concept race car — based on the 2019 COPO Camaro — is entirely electric powered, driven by an electric motor providing the equivalent of more than 700 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque.

2019 Camaro in Shock Yellow is awesome! 

DETROIT — Chevrolet today previewed a new Shock yellow exterior color for the 2019 Camaro. It will be available in early 2019.

The color made its debut on a 2019 Camaro SS show car that will be on display at the SEMA Show Oct. 30-Nov. 2 in Las Vegas, where it will be shown with new accessories and performance parts available from Chevrolet dealers.

The Camaro SS Shock show vehicle also features concept front-end styling that includes a relocated bowtie emblem and concept hood/fender graphics. It will be joined in the Chevrolet SEMA display by a personalized Camaro LT convertible, shown in new Satin Steel Grey Metallic and featuring concept red accents and additional accessories.

Concept Facia that was shown on the Shock Yellow Camaro for SEMA is said to be expedited for production.
