Kia Ora and welcome to this episode with Brother Royce Baucke. Bro. B, as I call him, has lived a full, wonderful life. He’s helped and inspired so many people because he’s full of love, learning and education. He was mistreated as a high school student, and so when he became a high school art teacher he was determined to be inclusive and loving. And that’s exactly what he became. He was raised by a single mother. He never knew his father. He was different from the very beginning. Some mocked him, but he ended up finding his place at art college as well as his people. He fell in love and has been with her ever since. He tells us of the journey he’s taken and the ups and downs of life. He was recently diagnosed with incurable cancer and so is living out his days in peace with his family and art. It’s my privilege to introduce you to Brother Royce Baucke’s story. Enjoy. These two mama’s started selling donuts out of the back of their car once a week in Hamilton NZ. Rain, hail or shine, you’d see them there, ready to hand off a freshly made donut to make your Friday’s that much better. People loved it so much they moved up to selling out of a caravan and to markets. Then they grew even more, so decided to get a store, then another and now they have six stores across the nation of NZ. They’re the founders of Mama’s Donuts and are famous outside of NZ as well. Come and listen to their humble story of how they wanted to simply make a little money for food, to being able to give back to the community and teach their ethics and values to others in the community. Kia Ora Today I go through all the jobs I’ve had over the years and what I learned from each of them. The first two I was fired from and the third one I had to beg not to be fired. It took me a while to figure out this thing called ‘work’. But I eventually learned how to work hard as a fruit picker, teacher, tutor, missionary and mother. Come with me and see if you can relate.
