Debby Goldsberry is a distinguished figure in the cannabis industry, celebrated for her unwavering commitment to advocacy, education, and entrepreneurship. With a fervent dedication to cannabis reform and a strong emphasis on social justice, Goldsberry has carved out a significant impact on the evolving landscape of cannabis legalization. Her tireless efforts extend beyond business ventures, focusing on creating a more inclusive and equitable cannabis community. Renowned for her involvement in various cannabis-related enterprises, Goldsberry's expertise spans dispensary management, product development, and customer education.
Goldsberry is the author of Starting and Running a Marijuana Business (Idiot’s Guide), a well-known industry guide. She developed and implemented standard operating procedures for procurement, product safety, patient relations, and business management and operations, which have been replicated by dispensaries around the nation. She has proven experience in nonprofit business management, public and government relations, and product development and marketing.

As a community leader, Goldsberry is active in the campaign to reform the cannabis laws and protect patients’ rights. Goldsberry was a Commissioner on the Oakland Cannabis Commission from 2020 - 2021. She is a former board member of California NORML and the Marijuana Policy Project and a former professor at Oaksterdam University. Goldsberry has been a staff writer at DOPE Magazine, High Times Medical Marijuana Magazine, and Cannabis Dispensary magazine, and was a featured writer at Smell the Truth, Ladybud, and Freedom Leaf.

She is currently a professional and technical writer and advisor helping small companies succeed in a big business world. She also works with Sapphire Risk Management to ensure that cannabis businesses are safe and secure. Goldsberry has been on winning cannabis application teams in CA, MA, NV, IL, OR, MO, WV, NM, OH, NJ, and MD. She is also the Chief Administrative Officer at Digamma Consulting, a cannabis testing lab consulting firm, and is the Chief Compliance Officer at Hi Fidelity dispensary in Berkeley, CA.

Chris Bennett has been researching the historical role of cannabis in the spiritual life of humanity for more than a three decades. He is co-author of Green Gold the Tree of Life: Marijuana in Magic and Religion (1995); Sex, Drugs, Violence and the Bible (2001); and author of Cannabis and the Soma Solution (2010); Liber 420: Cannabis, Magickal herbs and the Occult (2018); and Cannabis: Lost Sacrament of the Ancient World (2023) . He has also contributed chapters on the the historical role of cannabis in spiritual practices in books such as The Pot Book (2010), Entheogens and the Development of Culture (2013), Seeking the Sacred with Psychoactive Substances (2014), One Toke Closer to God (2017), Cannabis and Spirituality (2016) and Psychedelics Reimagined (1999). Bennett’s research has received international attention from the BBC , Guardian, Sunday Times, Washington Post, Vice and other media sources. He currently resides in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Lee shares his story covering his wild ride to become El Dorado County's first compliant cannabis cultivation operator after years of advocacy, activism and litigation. We will explore Lee's 20+ years as a tech professional while continuing his relationship stewarding canabis from 14 to 60 years old. Lee and the team are the first licensed cultivator in El Dorado County.  4 years and a lawsuit made the dream come true and in 2023 Lee successfully grew El Dorado's first legal cannabis crop! 

Singer-songwriter, massage therapist, doctoral student of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and now farmer —Megan Kim Richofsky, aka Righteous Sistah, uprooted her life from the redwood-rich Santa Cruz mountains to connect to her roots inland in California’s Central Valley where her family purchased their first plot of land as immigrants from South Korea 43 years ago.
With problem solving in her nature and the land at risk of being sold, Megan spent her downtime during the Covid pandemic researching the most sustainable farming methods possible. Now implementing regenerative and soon aquaponic farming practices, she is excited to share her findings and empower and encourage others to farm more sustainably with nature.

Seth Warner is a community advocate and educator in the psychedelic space based in the Bay Area. In 2018 he began his journey directing the San Francisco Psychedelic Society and by 2019 helped decriminalize psilcybin in the city of Oakland, CA. Alongside his work with these initiatives, Seth began MycoRising to teach home-scale psilocybin cultivation and has taught thousands of new growers through his workshops and Ready? Set. Grow! online program. He now seeks to teach a broader audience while building community locally through initiatives such as Hikerdose Oakland. Seth currently lives in Oakland, CA.

Today on The Cannabis Connection Show we welcome Patty Lanier of Noble Gardens. She owns and operates a specialty 5000 square-foot licensed cannabis farm in Lower Lake California. 
Patty is the co-hostess and co-founder of a podcast called Moms Do Weed which started in the spring of 2022 with another farmer mama based out of Mendocino, Chiah Rodrigues of Arcanna Flowers. Their mission is to smash the stigma around this sacred plant and elevate women's voice in the cannabis space.

Today on The Cannabis Connection Christopher Carr welcomes Steve Bloom longtime journalist and author with 35 years in the cannabis community. Steve has been a music journalist since 1978 and served as editor of High Times from 1988-2007. We will discuss how he discovered 420 in 1990, cannabis culture, CelebStoner.com, and the intersection of cannabis and music industry.
