Cannon Cruisers Season 8 Cannon Wrap-Up, Part 2 - Cannon Films Retrospective

Hey Cannon Cruisers fans! Randy here! And we're back with Part Two of our ridiculously long Cannon season wrap-up. We pick things up with Ninja III: The Domination and work our way through the remaining 26 films, with plenty of rambling and the occasional insight along the way. This half takes us through some Cannon favourites, some movies we'd nearly forgotten, a few that barely count as Cannon films at all, and more than a handful that were ridiculously hard to find. Eventually, everything comes full circle with Schizoid, the very first movie we covered back in 2017. As it began, so it ends. The season that never ends has finally ended.

Part Two of Two: This concludes our 51-film Cannon season wrap-up. The ride may be over for us... but you can always keep cruisin' the Cannon Catalogue.

Content Warning: This episode contains discussion of sexual content, sexual violence, violence and other mature themes.

Cannon Cruisers Season 8 Cannon Wrap-Up, Part 1 - Cannon Films Retrospective

Hey Cannon Cruisers fans! Randy here! This week, JD and I finally begin wrapping up our ridiculously long Cannon season, otherwise known as the season that never ends. What was supposed to be one season somehow stretched across roughly a year and a half and more than 50 Cannon-related movies. The ride just wouldn't stop, and we somehow kept cruisin' the Cannon Catalogue.Part One takes us through the first 25 films, starting with Treasure of the Four Crowns and ending with The Fourth War. A surprising amount of the conversation becomes us revisiting old opinions after finally seeing better copies of movies like The Apple, Alien from L.A., Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo and Lifeforce. We also finally get to some titles that had been nearly impossible to find, while occasionally stretching the definition of what actually counts as a Cannon film.

Part One of Two: We make it through 25 movies here. Part Two picks up with the remaining 26 because apparently one wrap-up episode wasn't enough.

Content Warning: This episode contains discussion of sexual violence, adult sexual content and violence.

  • Cannon Cruisers Season 8 Non-Cannon Wrap-Up - Non-Cannon Retrospective

    Cannon Cruisers Season 8 Non-Cannon Wrap-Up - Non-Cannon Retrospective

Hey Cannon Cruisers fans! Randy here! Season 8 got wildly out of hand. Our 29 Non-Cannon episodes covered 31 films, more movies than we watched during the entire first season of Cannon Cruisers. JD and I start with Walter Hill's The Warriors, wander through cult movies like Repo Man, and eventually hit our extended summer run of video game films, including Mortal Kombat. From there, we revisit the later action stretch and the unexpected return of John Carpenter with Memoirs of an Invisible Man. Our Halloween and Christmas specials round things out with Friday the 13th and Deadly Games (aka Dial Code Santa Claus). After a year and a half of releases, some of the details are understandably fuzzy. A few opinions have shifted too, which is half the reason for doing a wrap-up in the first place.

Content Warning: This episode contains discussion of violence, drug use and mature sexual content.

  • Robotech The Movie (1986)
Hey everybody, we're the Cannon Cruisers, and this week JD and Randy dig DEEP into the Cannon Catalogue and find the 1986 animated film, Robotech: The Movie.
    "Now THAT'S a Cannon Film"
The film was created by splicing together footage from the Japanese OVA “Megazone 23 Part I” and the animated television series “Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross” and had only a loose connection to the Robotech TV show and is today considered non-canon. What did JD and Randy think? Find out!
