  • Cannon Cruisers S07E04 - The Borrower (1991)
This week, we checked out "The Borrower" (1991).
I have literally forgot what this movie is about. It's been so long since we watched it. I guess I better re-listen to it and find out just like you, our valued listeners.

  • RAD (1986)
RAD (1986) - BMX Sports Drama

Hey Cannon Cruisers fans! Randy here! Totally awesome! This week, JD and I check out Hal Needham's RAD (1986), starring Bill Allen and Lori Loughlin. Small-town BMX rider Cru Jones gets a shot at competing in the brutal Helltrack race, putting him up against sponsored professionals and the people determined to keep an outsider from upsetting their plans.

JD and I talk about just how closely RAD follows the 1980s underdog sports-movie formula, and how much the BMX stunt work does to give it an identity of its own. Helltrack gets plenty of attention, including some of the production stories behind a course difficult enough that even the professional riders couldn't complete it in one run. We also get into the film's cult following and its long stretch of being difficult to find on home video.

Content Warning: This episode contains strong language and discussion of the college-admissions fraud scandal.

  • Non - Cannon S07E05 - The Running Man (1987)
Spring is in the air, the weather is getting nicer, and JD is on a health kick for some reason. So we pulled over to the side of the road, and went for a little run. And who should we meet? Our old friend, Arnold.
That's right folks! This weeks exciting edition of our Non-Cannonical Adventures takes us back to 1987 with a little film known as, "The Running Man".
